  • I bought some of those when someone posted the pampers case for like $24 a couple weeks ago!

  • For newbies, Pampers Swaddlers. Once they were out of newborn size (which was 6-10 weeks for my girls, they were tiny!) then we switch to Target brand and have stuck with those ever since. DD2 goes in short spurts of peeing through diapers overnight, and for those times we use Pampers Baby Dry.

  • Pampers for the longest time - Swaddlers, then Cruisers... then I tried Parent's Choice (Walmart brand)....and I will not turn back for him again!!! I am sure I will use Pampers for a little while with the newborn though. Never had much of an issue... until nighttime pee-ups, but then we incorporated nighttime diapers in (of course this was when he was a little older).

  • We did swaddlers at first. I didn't know about target brand and I don't believe they have NB size but could be wrong. Now target is all we use. Love them and love that they are almost half the price of pampers/Huggies.
  • I also used Pampers Swaddlers Sensitive at first, they were great! We had some Huggies, but he leaked out all the time. We switched to Target brand when he was a little older...maybe once he was in size 3s I think? I'll probably start with the same for this one.

Target does have newborn size now, but they run a smidge bigger than Pampers newborn size. We tried them with DD2 and they weren't a great fit because she was just so skinny, but I think they would be great for a more proportionate newborn.

  • FTM here, but I've heard it just really depends on your kid! I've heard some people like one brand for one and then it leaks on the next. I found this site: https://www.diaperdabbler.com/index.php?route=common/home

It's not cheap per diaper, but it's nice to get a variety pack so you don't have to spend that amount on a big box of every brand. Then you can decide which one you like and just buy those. They have different variety packs too like newborn, mega mom, etc.

I originally thought I'd be using huggies for DS.  But after trying a sample of pampers' swaddlers, that's all I would use on him until he got past size 4 and we switched to pampers cruisers.  I think it will depend on your baby's leg size/length and bathroom habits.  I remember on our boards before that some ladies swore by one brand because it prevented blowouts and some would never use them because they didn't contain anything for their child.

Target diapers were okay for us, but unfortunately they didn't contain poo well in the back for us.  Otherwise I probably would use the target diapers.

But for a newborn, I would try to use something soft, like pampers swaddlers.

eta: Now that DS is in size 6 and his shape has changed, I love the Huggies Snug n Dry.    So you'll probably end up experimenting somewhat as your baby grows.

  • We used Pamper Swaddlers Sensitive through size 1, then we switched to Huggies from Costco. Eventually (around 13 months?) we added in Huggies night time diapers.

  • Pampers worked best for Dd1 she was long and narrow. Huggies worked best for Dd2 she had a shorter torso and a bigger butt. She would end up with poop up her back with pampers. Huggies have an elastic back. Now that DD2 is getting older I go with target or which ever of the other two are on sale. FWIW I've never had good luck with Luvs. I only buy huggies wipes

  • All 3 of mine had different diapers that worked for them. My oldest did best in Luvs. My middle son used Huggies. My youngest couldn't use Huggies because they leaked so he uses pampers.

Yep exactly this except I used Huggies night time diapers for a short period of time when DS peed through the target diapers.

  • My boys were very sensitive and could only use luvs
  • Pampers Swaddlers then made the switch to Target Brand. We tried Huggies and Loves but DS always peed through them.

  • Pampers they are cloth like. The target diapers are rattly and crinkly like and the huggies leaked.

We cloth diaper but when I have to use disposables . . . Pampers Baby Dry for overnight and something cheap (Target, Walmart) for daytime.

  • Hughes supreme for my oldest son (he's 10 now!) and luves for my second son (8). Idk what this one will need I have a few different types so far to try out!
  • Just went to add diapers to my registry and realized I had no idea how many I should add of each size???
  • We used Pamper's Swaddlers when DS was a newborn. After that, we started buying Parent's Choice (Walmart) for day time and Pamper's Baby Dry for night time. The Walmart ones are cheap and DS has never had a leak ir blow out in them. We tried the Target ones because I had heard people love them and we HATED them. Every time he peed in them he would cry to be changed immediately because of how they felt wet. Yes, they cost less than name brand, but we went through them so fast that it didn't equate to any savings. I didn't read the other comments so this was probably already said, but every kid is so different. What works best for one, won't for another, so you really just have to try some out and see.
  • We used pampers swaddle until size three I think then Cruisers which we still use and baby dry at night. All have worked great with our DD.
