What grinds your gears?

You know what really pisses me off? When someone who has had a appointment with you for a month cancels the morning of the appointment! I even confirmed with her yesterday and she calls me this morning to say she cant make it. GRRRRRRRRRR I spent all day yesterday putting together the backgrounds she requested! I even pushed back that interview to Monday because I had this appointment today. Im so friggin ticked off right now.

So please let me know what grinds your gears!!!!

  • This is pretty crappy of me because I know they mean well, but if one more person tries to convince me to get a new dog, I'm going to go postal.  I've had 6 people tell me of dogs that are available for adoption since Bailey passed.  Give me a break, people!

    YESSSS!!

I disabled ours after an unfortunate naptime/FedEx man situation back in January.

    He switched routes after that.

  • I had a Jehovah's witness ring my doorbell when Bryson was sick a few months ago.  A few minutes later, another one did it.  I'm usually a pretty calm person, but I'm pretty sure that guy wanted to crawl into his backpack.

I put a sign up at my house that says "No unannounced visitors. Do not ring doorbell!"
I really wanted to put "No evangelists."

So, that will be my "grinds my gears" thing: Door-to-door evangelists.
    Go. Away.
If I was in the market for your crazy religion, I would have come to visit your church/kingdom hall. I don't need you to come and tell me about the end of days or ask me "thought provoking" questions just so you can whip out your conveniently edited "bible" and peddle your brain-softening magazines.

  • Being referred to as a single parent. I am not a single parent. I am a solo parent. First of all, I am not single, I am widowed, I have not been single for over fifteen years, and yes I still consider myself married. Also, many single parents still have another parent in the picture. Even if they hate their guts there is often still someone to make decisions with, or take the kids on the weekend. Everything concerning our daughter's welfare is on me.

When you express frustration about parenting and people say, "Oh that's nothing, wait until they're teenagers!" I call bullshit on that. Yes, teenagers are difficult but that doesn't mean parenting little ones isn't hard too. I remember being a teenager, but I don't remember being her age so I often have no idea what she can process and since she can't talk I have no idea when she is in pain or just being crabby.

Those of you who hate people who are always late or people who refuse to learn new technology would go absolutely nuts at my job. Constant lateness in a professional setting is just plain disrespectful.

Getting a call from the Pedi's office telling me they need to reschedule her appointment because he has a meeting. If it was a standing meeting why did you schedule the appointment? And if it wasn't, why schedule a meeting when he had appointments? Now I'm going to have to rush to your office after the dentist's appointment because those jags will probably be late too.
