I had severe pre-e and IUGR with my first pregnancy. BP otherwise has always been normal. Onset with my first was not until well into the second tri.
I am 10 weeks tomorrow. Last Friday, I got a headache. I checked my BP and it was 158/86. Headache lasted all day. I layed down and my bp went back down in a few hours. I called my OB. They told me to call back if it got over 160/100.
Yesterday, driving home, I started seeing spots...so bad I almost had to pull over. My vision was completely clouded. (I had this with pre-e.) I got home and checked my bp. 148/99. Got a horrible headache again.
DH is a physician. he told me to lay down. I laid down and bp went down again, but my headache persisted throughout the night. I am sick of my OB's office and going to find a new one...but until then, has anyone had their BP sky rocket this early in pregnancy? Like I said, I have normal BP when I am not pregnant--not even borderline.
Re: BP going up
Your doctor may need to put you on something for a while. Chances are you may not need it anymore the further you get. My first two pregnancies I didn't have hbp. My last two I did but I ended up not taking meds anymore because me pressure was getting too low. This pregnancy is totally different and I think a lot has to do with meds and the stress I've been under. Plus I suffer from a panic disorder. Have you been stressed?
