Hello - we are going in for our first IVF consultation next week. My doc sent me there due to both my tubes being clogged. I have already done some research of info/questions but wanted to get your take on how your first IVF visit went and what other things I should ask about.
Honestly, im deathly afraid of this whole process.
I was really scared too (and still am, a little). This is my first round of IVF and I have my ER tomorrow morning. I was fortunate that my IVF coordinator wrote everything down for me that I needed to do/remember, and helped me understand the big picture of the whole process before focusing on just the parts that I needed to fully understand before each next appointment. My DH was there too, and that helps since he has a bit of a clearer head about the whole process. At first giving myself shots was very scary, but I soon got used to the idea. In these last few days, I've been very bloated and heavy feeling, and my gut is sticking out. They say that's because I have so many 40+ mature follicles, which is a good thing, mostly! I've learned that I can't really plan for when I'm going to have appointments, procedures, etc. While it is a science, it isn't an exact science and it's all been about how my body has reacted---everyone is different. However, this community has been AMAZING in terms of reading about others' experiences, sharing mine, getting support, etc. I'm sorry that you have to be here but I'm glad you've found it! GL with everything!!

Thanks for your response! I Hope all goes well for you too. I think knowing what the issue is (blocked tubes) might make it easier for the doctor to go straight to the solution because ive had friends who had no problems with all their test and they still couldn't conceive.
I did a LOT of reading before visiting my RE. I saw two different RE's before starting IVF. I did not feel very good about the first (I felt like he blamed me for my bad tubes), so I went online to find someone else. My RE was VERY thorough, but most of it wasn't new to me anymore as I had a long time to research before that appointment.
