Intro and a ?

Hi Ladies,

This is my long overdue intro, my miracle was born 8/30 5 weeks premature, she was released from the nicu 3 weeks ago and is doing well. She has reflux and the doctor is fighting me tooth and nail about giving her medicine, so we are thickening her bottles. We changed formula twice already and I just put my foot down and started her on goats milk because it's the easiest on the stomach and we are all lactose intolerant and have reflux. 

I had 6 m/c  and a lot of fertility/immune treatments before having our miracle baby and I still am carrying around a lot of anger for all the haters that said I couldn't do it.

Does anyone use goats milk? If so do you let the warm milk cool before putting it in the fridge?
Was anyone else furious after they delivered for all the people that said they would never have a child? I literally saw one of the doctors and almost strangled them.

Anyhow I am so blessed to be here and see everyone else here and hope I can give some great support!

    Sorry I meant pedi doesn't want to give her medicine, I want her on the medicine. We are thickening the bottles because the pedi thinks it fixes the reflux in young babies.

    Welcome and congrats! I don't have anything to add about the goats milk. The only people I've ever known to use it had older infants around 7 months and I didn't get into specifics about how to treat the milk. I hope you figure it out soon and perhaps can switch to a pedi that you feel more comfortable with, it doesn't sound like you are on the same page at all but luckily there are lots of pedis out that and I am sure you can find one that you mesh with better.

    Welcome and congrats! I don't have any advice on the goats milk but agree with theresa, I have heard about fortifying for infant use. I also have to agree with switching pedis. My LO was on reflux meds too - he was a hot mess when he wasn't on them. He out grew it pretty young, but they were a must for us. GL and I hope you find something that works soon!

    #1 BFP 1/10/11; missed m/c discovered 7w5d
    IF Dx: Endo, hetero MTHFR mutation, poor morphology
    #1 IUI: 1/18/12 = BFN
    #1 IVF/ICSI 4/2/12 = 2 x 7-cell and 1 x 5-cell transferred (3dt) = BFP!!
    H was born at 41w2d on 12/29/12 - be still my heart!
    #2 IVF/ICSI 1/19/14 = 2 x 8 cells transferred (3dt) = BFP!! EDD 10/09/14
    M&W born at 37 weeks on 9/18/14 - I am the momma of 3 boys!!!

    I am sorry that you are struggling with the Dr.'s to come up with a plan that works for you and your LO. Congrats and I am glad to hear that you are all home.

    I don't really know much about goats milk, but did you try asking a nutritionist. They should know how to best prepare milk alternatives. GL!

    Congrats and welcome!  Our little ones share a birthday! 

    TTC started Oct '10
    Me: AMA w/RSD, atypical PCOS w/IR, LPD and High Prolactin. Controlled HP post-loss.
    DH: Low-T and borderline morph
    18 cycles, 3 medicated w/RE to get to a BFP!
    EDD 9/7/12, Saw HB @7w3d,missed m/c 1/30 @8w3d, d&c 2/8
    11 AL cycles, 9 medicated/IUI cycles. All BFFN!
    Moving forward with IVF
    BFP#2 our little cycle break surprise on AL cycle 12! EDD 10/27/13
    Beta #1: 41 Beta #2: 398; perfect u/s 3/11 hb @133bpm
    u/s 3/25 one perfect hb @183 bpm, adjusted EDD 10/23/13
    MaterniT21 and carrier screens normal. It's a girl!!!

    [/    RA with Sjogren's Syndrome. Risk of heart block in newborn. Age: DH and I are both 38.
    BFP #1: 11/25/2007, EDD 7/28/2008 - Missed m/c (blighted ovum) 12/6/2007 6w3d, D&C 1/3/2008.
    BFP #2: 4/2008 - Natural m/c at 6w.
    Met with RE in 5/2008 full cycle analysis and SA normal. Not considered high risk for blood clots but prescribed 1 baby aspirin a day precautionary during TTC and Progesterone suppositories during 1st trimester of pregnancy.
    BFP #3: 10/17/2008. EDD 6/23/2009,  Third time's the charm! Healthy baby boy born 6/27/2009 via emergency c-section.
    BFP #4: 6/14/2011. Healthy baby boy born 2/16/2012 via elective c-section.
    BFP #5: 1/15/2014. EDD 9/22/2014.     2/17/14:.We have a BABY!!! Heart rate 167 and measuring on time. 3/10/14 u/s #2 baby measuring perfectly at 12 weeks at heart rate of 166. NT u/s was normal. Maternit21 blood draw on 3/5/14. Results back on 3/19 - Normal.  It's a BOY!!!  4/10/14 at 16 weeks, 3 days discovered baby's heart stopped at 15 weeks, 6 days. D&C 4/11/14.  Pathology results were all normal.  New information on 8/11/14 - blood test revealed 1/3 of babys blood was in mine caused, most likely, by a tear in the placenta from extreme coughing.  Doctor believes this to be the cause of death.  Repeat D&C and Hysteroscopy scheduled for 8/19/14.  My Chart
