What are you getting your LO(s)? My job is crazy October through January, so I'm trying to pick up things here and there for the boys, rather than doing one huge shopping trip. TIA!
DS is getting a Little People race track (I got it at a consignment sale for a really good price and it looks new), Little People Nativity and a sled. In his stocking he'll have a book (probably something from Sandra Boynton since he loves those books), a plastic slinky and some kind of fun snack. On Christmas Eve he always gets a Christmas book and PJs.

They are both getting Power Wheels 4 wheelers from Santa. James the big one and Leo the little one. I will probably stuff their stocking with socks, a hot wheel or two, a couple of fun paint brushes, a new toothbrush, some fruit, and a mini instagram photobook. I'm thinking Santa will leave some canvas boards, workbooks for practicing letters, pencils, and something for cooking for James and some paint, apron/smock, and a bank for Leo. We got James a truck with a trailer and dirt bikes on the back from us. We will get Leo something similar. The boys give each other books. I think we will do a bowling game for our family stocking and a soccer ball.
i don't think we'll do a big gift. i'm going to get her a doll that has basic skill clothes (like buttons, laces, zipper, etc). probably some toy musical instrument stuff. not sure what else.
I started shopping this past weekend, mostly out of boredom. E is getting a little wagon with a pull string that has building blocks in it, a small wooden train set and a hape metal/bead contraption. (Can you tell I like wooden toys?!) I also want to get him a baby doll and an anywhere chair. The only other thing I'm considering is a play kitchen and/ or musical maracas. But that makes a lot of Christmas gifts!
Eta: by baby doll, I meant a cabbage patch baby.

No. It's not after Halloween. It's not time yet. So far, I've gotten ds toy gears, Spider-Man and Batman underoos, and a used vtech Innotab tablet. For dd, we've gotten some clothes, a wooden push toy that is a barrel with balls that roll around, and a small pitcher to practice pouring. I should get a move on. I need eight presents for each by the night before Thanksgiving because Channukah starts early this year.
I've gotten a kitchen off Craig's list for $25. Christmas pj's. A fisher price toy. Is like to get her some craft stuff. My mom gave me crayons and coloring books every year. So I'd like to start something like that.
DD's getting an Innotab, Crayola Dry Erase board, books, and lacing cards. In her stocking she'll get The Little Mermaid movie, toothbrush/paste, socks, maybe undies, and some candy.
DS is getting books, trucks, busy board, and maybe a portable DVD player. In his stocking he'll get a Disney movie (either Cars or Nemo), socks, and whatever else I can think of.
Wow. We just finished DS2's birthday...I have barely thought about Christmas! But Brody keeps telling us things he wants, so we keep telling him to ask Santa. lol. I wonder how long I can keep that up before he gets impatient.
We did already buy Brody a balance bike, but now I'm nervous he's going to be too tall for it.
And now that I was reminded of it above - I'd like to get them a Little People Nativity set for a St. Nick's gift.
C is getting a book, pj's, an outfit, balls for his ball pit, and something he "needs" but I haven't figured that out yet.
M is getting a book, pj's, an outfit, something she "wants", and a skip hop back pack.
Stocking stuffers come from Santa and will be bath crayons and socks for C, and socks and headbands for M. maybe a couple other small things.
I know that I will go completely overboard if I don't hold myself back, so we're adhering to the "Something they want, need, wear, and read" and added sleep and santa. (They will get PJ's every Christmas Eve) so each kid gets 6ish things (stocking stuffers are small, so they might get more than 6)
I love this!!

So far I bought her Anywhere Chair and a Hug Me Elmo doll. We saw it in the store and she flipped out. I will probably get her some little things to have more to open - Spring clothes, Little People to go with her play sets, some books. At this point the opening and the wrapping paper is just as (if not more) exciting as the gift.
I'm getting all of my kids PBK wheely luggage and sleeping bags as their big presents mostly b/c they all need them for vacations and sleepovers, etc. We need NO MORE TOYS, but I'll still be getting them each a few that they want. For Reid, I'll get him some Melissa & Doug puzzles and wood cars and stuff like that. I also get my kids books and a movie for their stockings, so we'll be getting Monsters U, Planes & Despicable Me 2 this year. I'll also get them new winter coats as well. (I think... I may need them earlier, however. We'll see.)
I am going to try and hold back from buying all the things. An UglyWhere chair is all I know of so far. I buy him stuff all the time so I need to start sticking it in the closet instead of giving it to him.
I am asking the ILs to get him an Anywhere Chair, and asking my parents to get him a nice toy box. Our toy storage right now is a joke. We will be getting him either these big foam blocks, or a plastic climber for his room as our big gift. We are considering a mini trampoline from Santa, but part of me thinks that is bonkers (but he LOVESSSSSS bouncing, and DH refuses to get a full size trampoline at our house). I would like a wooden name puzzle, and one of those little wooden food sets that you can 'cut' in half and sort and such. Something like this.
B is getting a beanbag chair, Tickle Monster kit, a U of M Michigan pullover, Jingle the Husky Pup DVD & the #2 & #3 books (he got the dog and #1 book last year), pots and pans for his kitchen with food, a broom set because he loves to help sweep up his mess after meals, the Vtech Pull & Learn Car Carrier, Mega Blocks, a big dump truck and some art supplies like crayons, paper, markers.
I'm not sure what will come from us vs Santa this year. I'll decide once I wrap everything. His stocking will probably have socks, some little toys and the art supplies.
Also on Christmas Eve he gets a new pair of PJ's & a book (Christmas themed)
ETA: I also thought of a ball pit but he's getting so much already we might just get him that for Easter as a big present.
So far for Liam I have a Step 2 push around buggy on his list, Little People Fun Sounds Farm, Vtech Smart wheels garage, Laugh and Learn Puppy Friends learning table, PB Anywhere chair, and PB Lamb rocker. For stocking stuffers I plan to do socks, some cute bandanna bibs, a dvd, and a few book. We also get each kid 3-4 outfits and some boots and or sneakers. I need to start shopping!
I'm pretty sure Santa will be bringing a kitchen the two of them can share. Since that's their big gift, I'll probably just fill in with books, pjs and a few small things.
@hmp1 I was looking on Amazon and found it but if you go directly to Hallmark.com they have the books on there along with the DVD. Each at $9.95 I think. He got it last year for Christmas and we just dug him out of the closet. Now he flips when we read to him. I've also heard the App for Jingle works better too! It's free also!
I got A the Vtech Go Go Smart Train and she is getting the Little People Disney Princess Castle. I also bought her some wooden blocks.
For her stocking she is getting some Little People, some Anamalz (these cute wooden animals that are super fun) a few My Little Pony figures, finger puppets, crayons, probably some books, a JellyCat stuffy, and PJs.
This is just what I got her... DH is buying her gifts too. Whoops.
Me: 27 DH: 28
Diagnosis: PCOS, irregular cycles, old lady eggs. DH is fine.
Started TTC in January 2010. BFP December 25, 2011 between IF appts.
I haven't started shopping yet. We are sticking to want wear read and need like @auroraloo. Then we will do stockings and a gift from santa. I also have Keagan's birthday the week after so that makes things really difficult. I need to start planning at least.
Yeah, we will maybe do the want, need, wear and read, but other than that, we aren't going to get her anything crazy big or expensive. We are going to hopefully be moving shortly after Christmas, so there is no reason for us to buy her anything like that. Plus, my parents and DH's parents will fill in for us this year on the bigger gifts I am sure. She won't remember it and its just a bad time this year.
I'm considering a play kitchen, but I don't know if I'll do it as an official "Christmas" gift or if it's just going to happen when I find one I like on sale.
I'm a horrible mom--she's still in the "no idea what's going on" stage so I see no real reason to get her things for a particular day. The grandparents are going to spoil her regardless, so she can open gifts from them, lol.
@origamipoppy dude, the kitchen is a big win for us. We got the kidkraft blue retro one and it's in our living room, but seriously- hours of play every day.
Update. DH told me he wanted to get the boys hockey sticks. I found this set and we will do 2 for our family stocking so we will have 2 goals and 4 sticks. Bonus, the sticks are a right and left handed and James and I are both left handed! We will keep it set up in the playroom for winter fun.
I'm thinking some sort of wooden block play set thing that was on the parents website or maybe a tool set or a first e reader type toy. I haven't quite decided yet, but I know the grandparents and aunts will spoil him so we're just getting a gift from santa and that is it.
I have no idea what we're doing. We're pretty much destined to always spend Christmas multiple states from home, so I think we're going to adopt the "something they want, something they need, something to read" thing. That way we're not hauling back too many things (though who knows with grandparents).
I think we'll add in one large gift (from Santa) for the both of them to share too. It was going to be a kitchen, but I caved and just recently purchased one - no way can I wait until Christmas with it. Maybe they'll get extra food for a gift.
I'm telling grandparents and other family members that they want books and puzzles.
We've done this for my 11yo SD the past two years and it is awesome! Make shopping so much easier instead of grabbing everything that seems fun and definitely helps keep the budget in line. Although I have to say, I know she would much rather have all four gifts as 'wants' She still rolls with it. We will be doing it for our boys as well.
Oh, I didn't read it fully I guess ours is a little different - we do something they want, something they need, something to wear, and something to read.
Re: I know it's early, but can we talk about Christmas?
Eta: by baby doll, I meant a cabbage patch baby.
