Anyone EBF with bottles

I think that I may try this, not sure.  I make 3-4 oz. bottles for mh to feed Ella. When he does, she eats much faster and it seems to keep her fuller longer because she doesnt have to work as hard for the milk and doesnt fall asleep in the middle of eating.  that is a lot of pumping, but I may give it a whirl today.  Ella takes the breast and a bottle, so I am lucky with that regard.

Re: Anyone EBF with bottles

  • I've thought about it, but probably won't.  We just bought Dr. Browns bottles and he doesn't spit up at all.  I hate seeing him spit up from the breast or the Avent bottles.  I'd much rather have him take in all the milk.  But I can't miss out on the bonding time we have w/ bf.

  • I know, I hate the spit up with bottles and I love the bonding time.  I may do it some of the time.....

    thanks

  • I did, and I ended up qutting pumping at 6 weeks because my supply was crap.
  • good to know, thanks
  • I have exclusively pumped since about week 8.  We just couldn't get a hang of the breast feeding and I wanted him to get the milk.  It was really hard at first figuring out a schedule.  I wanted to pump according to schedule but he would not eat according to a schedule.  I was producing a ton of milk because I was pumping after BF in the beginning.  If you decide to pump after feeding him a bottle, be prepared because it seems to take forever but it does get easier.
