And yet another symptom arises...

So a couple of days ago I started gagging because of meat and now yes spread to other stimulants...tonight I was walking to my car after class and the cold air was making me gag really bad--anybody else experience this and if so how did you fight it???

Re: And yet another symptom arises...

  • this is one of the strangest things I've ever heard! I guess I should be extra grateful that California is still a nice 70 degrees during the day.

  • Yeah, Florida here! That does sound really weird! I tried to picture it happening to me, and I guess I could see how the cold air in your throat would make you gag! Still crazy, though!! Hope it goes away soon!
  • lurking...

I had occasional gagging fits, usually brought on by smells or overeating.  BUT a couple times I gagged because my shirt rubbed up against my throat in just such a way...  AND songs/music that were really repetitive/annoying, would just make me feel sick.  Its like I had to turn it off.  It happened pretty rarely but weird none-the-less.
  • I gag pretty randomly, almost for no reason. Walking into work, driving in my car, just sitting on my couch...it doesn't matter. I have no explanation as to what causes it. So weird!

I have the same issue. I turn on the radio and have to turn it off because I feel sick. It IS weird!!

Ha!  Im glad Im not the only one.  DH was like WTH is wrong with you??  LOL
  • The cold air is doing the same to me! I thought about wearing a scarf so it could cover my mouth when I go outside, but I think I would look silly in October. :-).

In Colorado, October is a perfectly acceptable time to wear a scarf. And hat, and sometimes mittens. Lol. We're lucky here in that regard!
"I hate the term 'we're expecting'. Expecting indicates that there could be more than one outcome. To me, that term could be properly finished with any number of things, like, 'We're expecting a baby, but it could be a velociraptor..."

  • That's so weird! I've been experiencing gagging lately as well and for me, it's every time I sneeze! Ugh!

  • With the cold I am opposit. It helps me feel better. When the warm air hits it takes all I have to not feel sick.
On the bright side heaters have yet to be turned on saving us some money.
  • @That+One+Girl - me too! The steamy bathroom from my husbands showers in the morning makes me gag. I have to go into the kitchen where it's freezing to feel better.

I've also noticed my gag reflex has gotten significantly worse. Like when I'm brushing my teeth...the toothpaste doesn't bother me but the actual toothbrush makes me gag every time...then if I do throw up from it, I'm afraid to brush my teeth again to get the vomit taste out of my mouth. It's a horrible cycle.

  • Cold air always made me gag with my first.  I found out i was pregnant in December, and it was almost immediately after that I felt it.
