Prune Juice for Constipation- Question

Hey ladies. I know quite a few of you have dealt with constipation with your LOs. Well my sweet guy is experiencing some very hard, painful poops.

I know it's due to the BLW, and I want to offer him some prune juice. So, my question is, do I offer watered down prune juice in his sippy, or should I put an oz or two in his bottle? Also, how much should I give, how frequently, and how long should it take to work it's magic?

My doctor said to water down the prune juice 50/50 and put it in a sippy. The only problem is that she really only sips and never drinks more than an ounce. We ended up just doing more prune and pear purees to help her.

We give Alexandra 1 ounce prune juice mixed with 4 ounces of water. She takes it out of a bottle and likes it. She is SO much better since we started doing that. We don't give it to her every day. Usually every other day or every 2 days. The other days we make sure she has prunes. It has worked wonders! We also stay away from bananas and other foods that can cause constipation.

When they were little we just added a few ounces of prune juice to their bottles. Now I really love the Just Prunes pouches by Plum Organics, they do the trick every time.

Same for us..we use "just prunes" pouches to mix in with his food.

Our pedi said to give an ounce or two in a bottle or sippy cup and not to water it down. Usually an ounce is all P needs to get moving.

Hopefully things will get moving soon. It breaks my heart to see my guy in pain.

What do you mix the prunes with? Besides oatmeal...

Greek Yogurt is a good one. But really, you could mix them into almost anything. Bananas, sweet potatoes, carrots, beets, etc...
