...were you happy with your choice? I am struggling with the decision (vbac vs repeat c/s) but I am finding that I am leaning towards a repeat c/s. My labor the first time around was horrible and after almost 3 days it ended with an emergency c-section. I have to say the c/s was much easier then I anticipated and my recovery was not bad. I am reading the risks for both, but I find myself wanting the c/s b/c I know what to expect and it was just so much easier. My son has speech problems and, while we will never know 100%, there is a theory that the difficult labor might have contributed to it. I guess I am just scared of the though of labor going bad again. My doc is amazing and will not pressure me one way or another. He thinks I should follow my gut and do what I am comfortable with. I just wanted to hear from other moms who opted for the c/s the second time if you were happy with your choice.
Re: those who had repeat, planned c/s...
Edited to add that if we wanted more than 3, I may have been more inclined to try for VBAC just b/c I knew I didn't want more than 3 c/s.
Overall I'm very happy with my decision. Rcs was definitely for me! Good luck!!
I was also told by my doc the risks and it sounded like the vbac risks, though low, were more serious then the rcs.
DH and I have always wanted 2 kids, 3 would be our limit so this wouldn't affect our choice to have more kids.
I feel more and more comfortable with the choice to do a rcs. Like some of you said, the idea of having the date set and to just walk in and have everything in order sounds so nice, especially after the headache that was my first experience. My mom supports my choice, my MIL not so much but she isn't being mean about it. She just feels natural is the best way, and in a way it is, but it isn't without its share of risks.
My gut is telling my c-section, I think I should probably just follow it and not force something I am really not for. Hopefully this time, since its planned, I will be able to BF my baby quicker then the last time (I was left in recovery for 3hrs, they forgot me during a shift change and never gave me a call button...I was in some corner room with no windows and no one to call....I was so mad)
Thanks again for sharing your experiences!!!

That said my main motivation for a vbac was recovery since I had a hard time with my first. It wasn't nearly as hard second time.
If your motivation is more for a different birth experience then a vbac might be more attractive.
