Your bp could be high because you're nearing the end if pregnancy. People can have lots of contractions for a long time, they don't mean you'll start dialating yet. Lastly, did you ask you doc. these questions???
I am no doctor but my BP tends to elevate when I am in pain. Maybe this can be the issue. Early on in the pregnancy I had tendonitis in my foot that was causing lots of pain and it made my BP higher than normal.
I was in l & d and they had no idea why I had such high blood pressure. My contractions were mild and coming every two mins but they said I had no change so I was sent home.
I was going to put a thoughtful answer but since this is your first and only post, I've decided not to. Call your doctor or ask your iguana. If L&D can't answer your question what makes you decide "oh yeah, I'll ask some internet strangers. Surely they are smarter/have more experience/know more about my situation than the nurses and doctors at L&D."
That's pretty strange they just released you. My BFF had high BP without any contractions and they ended up delivering her early. Did your BP decrease back to normal levels prior to them releasing you?
Yes! I've been having high bp since 33 weeks, I've been swollen , seeing spots, shortness of breath. I've done the 24 hr urine test 4 times, I've been on observation for 5 days! Bed rest, and I've gained 16 pounds in 3 weeks! They determined its gestational hypertension which looks like the start of preeclampsia but with out the protein they can't say it's preeclampsia . They are just waiting to see my results on Monday! Baby is healthy so they aren't to worried! Contractions are there but mild and a lot of cramping. They said I'll most likely be induced before I reach 39 weeks! Sorry for all the errors, spelling, run on sentences! Mobile and at work !! Sneaking around! Lol
Just hang in there and Don't be scared to contact your doctor with any new symptoms!! Stay strong! Just a couple more weeks!
