any experience with Allerga?

Paige is like CONSTANTLY congested, runny or stuffed up nose, chest congestion, cough- like we are talking over a month now.
We do the saline, blub sucker, cool mist humidifier but I just feel so bad for her. I am also quite positive this is waking her up at night too, especially considering there was dried snot all over her face this morning. ugh!
the Pedi says to give her a 1/2 a teaspoon of allerga twice a day and it should help. Has anyone else used or had experience with that? Any other help with congestion remedies that yall can recommend?

Re: any experience with Allerga?

  • Hello!! Kind of random for you but I am dairy & soy free due to my LO's allergies and I am part of support groups for MSPI. Many of those moms tell stories about how congested their LO's were until they cut dairy. I didn't know they could be related, idk if it is scientific, idk if you even BF. But it is crazy the amount of moms that say cutting dairy fixed congestion. Something to think about or try if you get desperate. :)
    Good Luck

  • Nothing more than you are already doing.  Never tried Allegra, nor has my pedi ever suggested anything related to allergies.  It's cold season in my house too and all three kiddos have something.  We are using a nebulizer for the girls with albuterol because their congestion was in their chests.

    Isn't allegra a 24 hour drug?  I don't know that I'd do that twice a day.

TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!

Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
