My Britishness is coming out a lot today and I just had to share this cute picture of Prince George. Look at those chubby cheeks!! I just want to squish them.
He is so cute but WTF is he wearing? It looks like a mini version of his Grandma's wedding dress from the 80's...lol. I have seen some frilly christening gowns but that one takes the cake!

It's a replica of a gown worn by Queen Victoria's eldest daughter in 1841, I don't like the colour to be honest.

It reminds me of Ron Weasley's dress robes.
(Because I pull all my British references from Harry Potter, obvs.)
It's pretty standard for boys to wear gowns too for Christening gown, especially if it's a family heirloom. My ds wore one that has been used for 5 generations. I think it makes it special and I also think a lot of the white suits people use on boys now sometimes look cheap and cheesy. Team dresses on boys.
@Frankierokx why do articles about them have people making mean comments about it being a sham marriage and calling her waity Katie? (I know the waity part but arent people past that.) It seems from what I read the majority of Brits like her. Just curious....also my DD is Kate and coincidentally has the same birthday as her.

My son will be christened in the same gown his sister wore which is trimmed in tatting that my grandmother made and smocked. I much rather see a boy in a gown than a mini tuxedo made of polyester.
That gown is a replica of the royal christening gown that all but one of the grandchildren wore and everybody before them as well.

@KKDRAGONFLY They call her waity Katie because she was with Will 8 years before he proposed, she gave up her job and her life to transition to a royal, and the press made fun of her for it.

I haven't seen this recently. It always seems like people love her. I do!
Btw, I rather wait for an actual prince than some jackass who is sowing his wild oats.
That little baby is adorable. We had a family Christening gown too. My kids are not christened, but if we did, they would absolutely wear the same gown. Mum would have brought it with her in her hand luggage!!

1) I love that you put a "u" in color. My grandma is from the UK and taught me how to spell so I put "u" in the word color all the time and people make fun of me...lol
2) I think it is the color that is throwing me off also. We have a family gown and I am all about boys in gowns but I think the color plus the mass amount of frill makes him look like a doily
They all looked so lovely! Kate is the epitome of class, and that baby is adorable. They look so normal and unpretentious! I love the sentiment behind the Christening gown, too. My daughter's wasn't white either, but had been worn by every female in our family, as this wee one will do if baby is a girl. Meaning trumps norms every day of the week in my book.
They are an adorable little family! DS wore the same christening outfit my brother did. It was special because he is DS's god father. DD will likely get a new gown as the one from DS are little pants for a boy.

Canadian's spell it with a u as well although people using American programs with American spell check is kind of killing that.
