"Care Package" for new mom - advice?

Hey ladies,

So it's been a couple years since I had a baby, but a dear couple is due at the end of November and I wanted to put together almost like a care package for them (mainly for the mom-to-be), b/c it's her first and I'm sure she has no idea what to expect in the way of recovery and those first few weeks with a newborn.

Anyway, what would you recommend for a care package that is kind of like something that will cover all bases for those first few weeks and recovery? I had some ideas, but I know I could think of more...

I am planning to get a couple BFing items like Lanolin and those gel pads to help with the discomfort of learning to nurse, but I am just blanking on some other things that would be helpful.

    Yes on the suggestion for a gift card to a place that delivers, that is a great idea.  If it's not too personal...TUCKS PADS!  Man it hurt after I pooped for like MONTHS.  JUMBO PADS.  My ideas are maybe more appropriate if it's a close friend/family member, LOL.

    I had thought of these and I just think we're not as close as I would need to be to give those...LOL. It's so hard to determine what will be appropriate. I want to be helpful, but not too personal since we're not on that level.

    If you were closer to her Maxi Pads without Dryweave

    Maybe some crackers and other easy to eat snack food?

    Yes, the Dry Shampoo!  There were times I couldn't get in the shower, and the dry shampoo was a life saver!  Also lots of snacks and easy to grab with one hand foods.

    Maybe one of the rice bags.  I used one ALL the time when I had plugged ducts in the beginning (we only nursed for a month, so I don't know if she'd use them much longer after that).. But, I also used it on my back some, too, because I had pain from where my epidural was placed.. it was lavender and chamomile scented :)

    PP all had great suggestions, and ditto on all given. My first response would have been Dermoplast spray, but you're not going in that direction. 
    I especially love the gift card/ frozen meal idea. Also snacks. Snacks are always good!
