Maybe it's just me but I don't really see any problem with this. We used to take BMs suggestions for gifts bc SD is with her more, obviously she tells her more ideas. The only reason we stopped is coz BM started demanding we buy SD (at age 7) a laptop and iPad and all these electronics that she's not ready for (she broke all that stuff that her mom bought her anyway, no kidding). But otherwise I figure if he's asking you and willing to buy whatever you say, then hey win win.
I guess it is annoying he needed you to log in but I have no issue with you doing this because it is likely DS will get what YOU want him to get. Did he give you a price range? I sure hope you put more than toothpaste, toothbrush and shaving cream

Have you thought about setting up an Amazon Wish List for DS? DS, DD and K all have one. They can go on Amazon and add to their wish list whenever they want, and people can see their lists. I know my folks, my ILs, my sisters and even some of DC's family have ordered from the wish lists for birthdays and Christmas.
I am laughing. I find this funny. As long as you arent constantly being asked to handle everything i dont see that its an issue. And if you spend a little on yourself everytime you do it...that might keep him in check.
