Tuesday Bedrest Check In

How did everyone sleep?

Milestone, update, appts?

Qotd: did you need anyone help conceiving little one?

Re: Tuesday Bedrest Check In

  • I am still awake, haven't slept but feeling my eyes heavy.

Yesterday went to pick up the package my friend bought from my registry, it was the high chair :-)

Qotd: I conceived my lo with help of clomid 100mg, opk and timed sex. Only took me one try. :-)

  • Slept good until 630 when my husband got up. His alarm woke me up. So I got up and used the bathroom and layed back down. Then I thought my stomach was going to slaughter me if I didn't eat anything, So I got up again and ate. Now I am laying back down wide awake. I am sure I will get sleepy when I got to start getting around for my Dr appt.

I was have long cycles sometimes and we already had a loss. And we had been trying 8 months after our loss And I had a 70 day cycle so I went in and they started doing the Timed labs for hormone levels during my cycle and a ovarian ultrasound to look at follicles. I also stated this supplement called pregnitude. My dr said depending on my labs we may try a round of Clomid. Well I didn't need clomid because that was the cycle ee concieved. :) it was weird because I was using opks and I normally always got a positive when I did ovulate. I didn't that cycle, it was almost positive. I knew I ovulated by the other signs tho. My dr did labs that confirmed ovulation then obviously I got my bfp!

  • Good morning.  Slept pretty well last night after watching the first half of the online babycenter childbirth class.  I was initially supposed to be doing an all day class this coming Sunday, but because of bedrest, I cancelled that and I'm just doing this online one that's a couple hours long and you can take it anytime online.  Better than nothing!

I had a very hard time conceiving.  Took me 3 1/2 years, including clomid alone, clomid IUI, and three IVF cycles.  I was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve, and we were going to move onto donor eggs if the last IVF cycle didn't work- well thank goodness it worked!  I know I'm going to be balling my eyes out when this baby enters the world, because I've been waiting sooo long for him/her!

  • I slept good. Appt is tomorrow..for cervical length checks. Each time i feel more anxious and anxious. Mad with DH, because he doesnt seem to get the word "sacrifices" I felt like concieving took a while but since being on the bump, i know it wasnt anything. I had an early MC feb last year and concieved this little one in April. Laugh if you will, but my husband says that him taking fertiaid helped us, and I say its because I did a headstand. It may have helped but i was also on my way to losing 15 lbs...lol who knows!
  • I slept really well last night, but I am frustrated because I hired a cleaning lady for the first time who was to come at 8 am this morning for a very expensive, whole house overall before she started coming weekly for maintenance.  So I got up, showered, dressed and tidied up some things so she could actually clean.  Well, she called at 8:15 that her daughter was sick and couldn't come.  No big deal BUT she wants to come next Tuesday.  That's a whole week away. I first contacted her 2 weeks ago and it took all this time to schedule to begin with.  Now my house is a disaster because I refused to clean over the weekend or let my mom clean yesterday because I was paying $300 for someone to clean today.  Sorry for the long winded vent!!!

Anyway, that can't really get me down because I got good news at the doctor's yesterday - my cervical length went back up to 1.6 from 1.17 so at least I feel the bedrest is working!  Just a little sigh of relief that it didn't get worse!

I was diagnosed with severe Diminished Ovarian Reserve (DOR) at 30.  It was pretty much an impossibility for me to get pregnant (I think like 3% with IUI and 10% with IVF).  Miracle of all miracles, I got pregnant with twins on my 3rd cycle of injectible medications with IUI!

    How did everyone sleep?
Up super early again today but slept well.

    Milestone, update, appts?
27w1d...6 days to beat my record.  I didn't have an appointment but I did have a phone call with my doctor.  She will not allow me to get the steroid shots for the baby's lungs until I am in active labor.  Because my labor was sooo fast last time (and she came around this time in gestation) I was pushing to get a round because they help so much but she said no.  Ugh.  I just worry because of how short my cervix is and the pressure I feel, etc.

We are lucky to have no interventions needed in order to conceive.  This one was a surprise! I guess we had a little too much fun on vacation and came home with an extra special souvenir.  :)  Our first one, my husband was working out of town a lot so we had limited time together.  I tracked my cycle so we knew when to get busy and it ended up working well.

  • Slept great! Even got to sleep in until 930 which is a big deal in this house(the cat and dog seem to think they must be fed by 7 or will die).
Went to the doctor yesterday and was told that i have lost three lbs in a week but that LO is measuring at 36/37 weeks (i am only 31) so now it's more ultrasounds and doctors visits to figure out if he's really going to be Paul Bunyan or what.
QOTD nope we didn't have any help he was actually quite a surprise for SO and me but a happy one.
  • congratulations @ smscartozzi!!

  • I slept okay last night. I slept a lot during the day yesterday so I wasn't surprised when I tossed and turned a bit throughout the night. I am 34 weeks tomorrow. I guess that it kind of a milestone. I go to the doctor today to have another BPP done. This baby was an "oops-surprise" baby. My h and I were planning on starting to try in the fall (around now) and I think we just got careless. I was surprised because we tried for months to get pg with my daughter and I used OPKs and tracked my cycle like crazy and it still took 6+ months.

  • SMS- congrats, yay!!!  Sounds like they are both good sizes for 34 weeks.  Hope you recover quickly and they don't need NICU time, or at least not much :-)
  • @sms, CONGRATS!!!  They are adorable and great weights!  How had you been feeling in the days prior to labor?  Speedy recovery and any word on NICU time?  It sounds and looks like they're doing great.

I slept like crap last night.  Went to bed around 11:30 and couldn't stop tossing and turning and thinking until around 2 am, just in time for DD to come climbing in my bed.  No big deal, she went right back to sleep.  But I probably fell asleep around 2:30-3 am.  For some reason, she woke up at 5 and wouldn't go back to sleep.  I was so upset.  I napped on and off on the couch until about 10:30 and now I'm laying in bed while she's napping.  Might shut my eyes for a while.  I just can't get enough sleep these days.

32w6d today.  Tomorrow's my week change and P17 injection.  Love Wednesdays. Got a call today from the OB saying my culture came back and I did/do not have a UTI.  Go figure.  I have one antibiotic pill left from the Rx.  Oh well.  Better safe than sorry, right?  So weird.  I really thought I had one.

Qotd:  I never needed help conceiving DD but it did take us over a year to conceive.  And the first pregnancy ended in a D&C due to a blighted ovum.  After 3 months, we tried again and found out we were pregnant on Christmas eve!  After DD, my period never returned and I had to be put on hormone therapy to 'jump start' things.  We got pregnant this time while 'trying but not trying' and it happened.

  • @SMS-Congratulations!!  They are so beautiful and such great weights too!  So happy for you all, please keep us posted.  Hope recovery is smooth and speedy!

Sleep last night was a bit difficult.  I am in L&D, so the laboring woman who also had the poor misfortune of vomiting during labor, kept me up until almost 3.  I slept off and on until 11 and I think my nurse is judging me for it ;-)  I've been mentally challenged being in this room for 3 weeks.  It is small and the only window stares at a brick wall; no joke.  I covered them with pictures from my 4 year old, but even they aren't cutting it anymore!  Hoping to get back to postpartum wing this week.

QOTD: My DH and I are very fortunate because we are able to conceive without help and very quickly.  My problem is keeping them in :-/
  • @hjweber- when my mom left our house last night I confirmed I was calling her house if I go into labor. I knew it was coming, call it mothers intuition. Yesterday I pooped 5-6 times, had pelvic bone pain/pressure, my nipples had changed noticeably in the the past few days and my Braxton hicks were serious business. Also the lightning crotch had stopped, whih i think was because A couldnt move as much because she was coming down into my pelvis. This time was nothing like my last L&D experience. I caught it early enough that my water didn't break and progress was much slower...think that was because of the procardia.

We are all doing well but it's time for a nap!! I have been up since 2am....and DH since 4:30am.
