Renting baby equipment on vacation

Has anyone ever heard of or used babysaway.com? We are going on vacation around Christmas and I just discovered this website. It seems pretty cool and the prices are reasonable. Just wondering if anyone has used this before?

Re: Renting baby equipment on vacation

  • I almost did but ended up not actually going through with it (we decided we didn't actually need anything since my LO was not mobile). We did get a car seat from the rental car place and would NOT recommend that at all.

  • I was close to renting an exersaucer when ours wouldn't fit in the car for our beach vacation. When I saw a $35 price tag I said no way! Although it seems reasonable, my exersaucer at home was only $80 to buy! We just dealt without it.

  • We are thinking about renting a pack n play so that we don't have to travel with one. At $42 it would be cheaper than checking it on a plane both ways.
  • Most hotels have them available to borrow for free. The last time I stayed with family, we actually just borrowed the neighbors... I also thought about buying on on craigslist (having family pick it up) and then donating it for the tax write off when I was through.
  • When we flew to florida, we actually went on Craigslist.com ahead of time to find a used pack&play, and picked it up directly from the airport.  It was very convenient and worked out great!

  • A lot of airlines allow baby items to be checked for free.  I also bring the PNP because paying to rent what we already have seems kinda silly and it's not like it's that big.
