So I have a healthy 4 month old

But I had Preeclampsia and was on bed rest the last 2 months of my pregnancy. I was diagnosed at 29 weeks-High BP and protein in my urine. I was on modified bed rest for 2 months! and had 2 ultrasounds a week and lab work/check ups EVERY week! I almost had to deliver her at 29 weeks but was able to control it with bed rest and had her at 39 weeks. So will I develop it again? I am so worried that I will and it will be worse...and if I have to go on bed rest how will I care for my baby at home...I am also 36 right now so my age is considered high risk. I have slight high BP right now..I am not on meds...but it always has been on the high side even before my baby. Any info or stories about your experience would be great to hear. I know they say that just because you have it the 1st time doesn't mean you will again but I got it at 29 weeks(prob had it earlier) I just read the earlier you had PreE that is a factor that you could get it again.
Re: Worried I will get PreE with second pregnancy
There is an increased risk if you have it with your first that you will develop it with your second. However, the likelihood of reoccurrence seemingly depends on a number of factors such as whether the pregnancy is with the same man, length of time between pregnancies (1-2 years is best from what I have read...too long actually increases chances of reoccurrence), how severe your pre-e was before and the time of onset (earlier means more likely to get it again, etc.) and a whole host of other issues such as if there is an underlying cause.
The fact that you were able to make it to 39 weeks without it getting so severe that it required delivery is a good sign. Most women who did experience it again usually have it less severe the second time...not always, though.
