Is it possible that my LO that will be 6 months old next week will just grow out of her waking 3 times a night and just on her own start STTN? I'm not a fan of "sleep trainning" but as more time passes and she doesn't STTN I don't know what to do. I think we are working on a tooth, I can't see anything yet but she has been crankier than usual and chewing on anything she can get her hands on, including her own fingers. Someone please tell me that she could start STTN on her own!!???
Re: Is it possible or am I just wishful thinking?
I'm reading the no cry sleep solution.
I can not remember when she started exactly but I think it was before a year. I DO remember sleeping on the living room floor for the first year of her life. At the time we lived in a 2 bedroom home, my son had one bedroom. Any noise of the mattress creeking would wake her up so we had to sleep on the living room floor. The funny thing is now, at 11 years old, she can sleep through a bomb going off.
This is exactly how it is in my house as well.
OP - i"m wondering the same thing as you. I really don't want to have to do sleep training as my DD isn't that bad, but at the same time I do think she needs some help in learning to soothe herself.
Lately she's been waking up a few times before midnight. Then I move her into the RNP in our room and she sleeps 6 plus hours. One night last week she did 9 straight, but only in her RNP. That being said, she just got her second tooth and has had the congestion and cough to go with it, so I wonder if the RNP is really makin her more comfortable because she is on an incline - OR if she just likes being near mom and dad?
I will say - in the past week she has stopped taking a MOTN bottle. I feel like this is a big step in getting her to STTN consistently, and can only hope she stops waking up so much and starts sleeping sounder!
