I am just curious what percentage of mono/di moms or even di/di moms went on bed rest? I am 25 weeks, so far so good, and soooo nervous that i am taking my good health for granted and going to be surprised with bed rest at some point. Right now we are planning on scheduling a c section for between 34-37 weeks (i'm aiming for 36!) but i'm unsure of how much longer i will have to get stuff done around the house. babies are currently same size, same fluid and looking good, and i have had a relatively easy pregnancy so far with the only issues being and SCH at 11 weeks and vasovegal response issues (dizziness, lightheadness, low blood pressure) the past 5 weeks off and on. i am concentrating on making it to at least 32 weeks but MFM said concentrate on 28 first, she keeps trying to get me to smaller goals so i am not disappointed.
just wondering if there were any warning signs or if it was a complete surprise to you!

Re: Bed Rest? (mono/di)
I'm 21 weeks now, but was told by my OB that if everything went well with my Mo/Di twins we would schedule a c-section at 37.5 weeks, that being said, she mentioned that Mo/Di twins usually come earlier.
If everything is going great and you have twins measuring the same size without any fluid issues, I don't know why you couldn't get to 35-37 weeks. I also was told by my OB/Perinatologist that Bed Rest would only be something I am put on if we all start having problems. My twins are measuring at 25% behind at 21 weeks and i'm not on bed rest yet. At my appt on Friday the Dr. didn't even mention it. She just told me to rest as much as possible and try to take a nap once a day...
You are doing great, with your twins measuring the same size right now, that's amazing and promising. I don't think you would get put on bed rest just because you are nearing the end of your pregnancy and happen to be carrying Mo/Di twins.
Mono/Di Twins - Due March 3, 2014 (Realist EDD - Feb 5, 2014)
Mommy to Jericho - 2 Years Old.
TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
ETA: I had mo/dis as well. They had a growth discordance, which they got monitored for throughout the pregnancy, but I was never told to restrict activity b/c of that.
I had a very easy pregnancy with my Mono/Di girls (yes lucky I know). I had them at 34 weeks 3 days. I had planned to start telecommuting after the new year holiday until they came (expected due date was sometime in January), but my girls had a differnt plan, my water broke Christmas Eve Morning and they arrived just after midnight on December 26th. My plan to work from home wasnt mandatory but after talking to my doctor an hour commute to work everyday one way was getting exhausting!
Rest, keep your feet up and good luck!
Stay positive and take care of yourself the best you can. Good luck!
