MoMs Check In - Week of 10/21

Ugh!! So many issues! Here is the checking forum for this week! I don't have the stats updated from last week and this week my computer is telling me the bump website has a virus.. So I'm on mobile! Update us on where you are!!

Mono/Di Twins - Due March 3, 2014 (Realist EDD - Feb 5, 2014)

Mommy to Jericho - 2 Years Old.

Re: MoMs Check In - Week of 10/21

  • 20w3d here. We had the a/s last week and everything looks great! The babies are di/di and both weigh about 10 oz. This was also the first time I met with the MFM and if things look the same at our next growth scan they are comfortable with me just seeing the OB unless something would change.

  • 31w2d. Took a trip to L&D yesterday to check on some braxton hicks contractions. I had 4 the whole hour I was there, but they were random. They did an FFN test and it came back negative. Ihad my first internal cervix check and I thought I was going to die. Cervix was still high, thick and closed. Phew! I have my regular OB appointment tomorrow. I'll be getting another rhogham shot.

Otherwise, sleeping crappy, hard to breathe at night, etc. I feel like I've grown a lot in the last two weeks. Can't wait to see the girls next week at my MFM appointment. Hoping to find out when I can schedule my c-section. Hoping for the week after Thanksgiving (37 weeks).

  • hi ladies- 25 weeks today with mo/di boys!
started feeling like i am getting a head cold or bad allergies last night and today... just want to sleep and drink nyquill but i can't.  i miss nyquill! :)

babies were good last week, 2% discordance which is awesome.  baby a was 611 grams and baby b was 599 grams.  i have an OB visit this week then a fluid scan next week again.  i do like going every week to check on them (whether through doppler or u/s), it keeps me somewhat sane.

    Me (37) DH (39); PCOS changed to Unexplained, changed to DOR in 2012 (finally a correct diagnosis!);
Started TTC 2009 with RE after 6 months.

Identical twin miracle BOYS (!!) headed our way- due date is technically 2/4/14 but c section is scheduled for 1/7!

  • 21w with mo/do boys. They are measuring 25% apart which is making me a nervous wreck. I have to go to the doctor every week now and my OB may transfer me to a MFM (right now I have a perinatologist and an OB). We haven't been diagnosed with anything just taking a wait and see approach but I hate it. I'm a control freak and I can't do anything about it. :(

My computer is still being a butthead, I'm not sure what's going on but whenever I try to get into a post from there I get stupid pop up alerts about there being a virus. I'm going to try and clean up and run virus scans today and see if that fixes it

    Mono/Di Twins - Due March 3, 2014 (Realist EDD - Feb 5, 2014)

Mommy to Jericho - 2 Years Old.

  • 32w4d, going in for my now-weekly checkup this coming Thursday.  Will be seeing a new OB as mine is out on maternity leave until the week of our scheduled C-Section.  I've heard from everyone though that this doctor is great so I have no worries.  All is good though, the boys are incredibly active today.  Having some weird pains, don't know if it's Braxton Hicks or not.  They don't come and go, they're pretty steady, but nothing that will take my breath away.

My legs are very swollen.  I wear those compression stockings and it doesn't seem to be helping so will mention that to the OB on Thursday.  I don't wear them at night and by the morning it's hard to get my tennis shoes on.  By evening I can tighten my shoes but my legs remain incredibly swollen.  Like, making my husband exclaim "Holy cow!" swollen.  Fun, Fun, Fun!

  • 26w5d with team green twins. This is one of the few weeks with no OB/MFM/Peri appointments, but I do have my glucose test on Friday. :( I have a feeling I will fail the test - my mom had GD when she was pregnant and we have a family history of type 1 diabetes.

I am just starting to swell (if my tight rings and shoes are any indication) so trying to drink a lot more water.

I have totally HIT THE WALL - I am a marathoner and by mile 21 I usually am just *done* and I feel like that just happened - my sciatic nerve on my right side hurts, my tail bone hurts, my hips hurt, I can't sleep, get up from the couch or bend over, dishes are a pain in the ass because the belly is in the way, I have numb spots on my stomach and going up a few steps gets me winded. 11 more weeks is my new mantra but it seems that that is so far away (as is 5 more miles in marathon land - at least a marathon is over in a few hours LOL)

  • New here!
15w1d with twins. US next week to confirm mo/mo or mo/di. Undetermined in original US at 11w. So our fingers are crossed for this one!

As for me, I'm still exhausted, but in the wake of my first trimester I'm glad to have my appetite back!

  • Hi, I'm fairly new here! Just been lurking for a while! I'm 34 wks with di/di twin boys! Go in for a length u/s on Thursday. So far everything is looking really good as far as their growth, my cervical length and everything. I can't wait to see how much they weigh on Thursday! And it's surreal how close I am to having these babies! Can't wait!
Only thing I have to complain about right now is my ribs are killing me! Baby b is breech so he sits all up in my right rib all day! So not comfortable! Other than that, can't complain!

  • Aww, CaliCarly77, we'll get there (you much sooner than I! :)

13w5d with di/di team purple twins :)  No issues this week.  Next appointment / ultrasound time isn't for another 2-1/2 weeks, so I'm going with the thought that as long as all is quiet at this point, I'm good!

I'm struggling with constantly one-sided headaches.  They aren't turning into full fledged horrid migraines, but I'm living on tylenol and that doesn't make me happy :(   My husband is being absolutely amazing.  He works all day, then comes home to an emotional wife who is just done with feeling off and headachey and sick all the time.  Yet, he comes home, curls up with me and cheers me up.  <3

Not sure if I mentioned it here, but we think we've isolated what was making me so sick at home.  After changing air filters and slowly isolating me in each room daily, the livingroom is the culprit due to Sumo lounge bean bags.  Soo.. until we figure out a way to store them without ruining them, they are shoved to the far side of the living room and I stay locked in my bedroom all day :p  Blah!

  • 24w5d!  I had an u/s cervix/growth check today.  Cervix is at 2.9cm - which concerns me alittle since its gotten shorter but I know its still within normal.   Both babies are growing great though - both about in the 50% precentile.  A is 1lb11oz and B is 1lb13oz.  So its crazy to think I've got over 3 lbs of baby in there right now!

I'm due April 23! 13w6d today! As for headaches, I use DoTerra essential oils in peppermint. Works great. I wasn't a believer until I got a full blown migraine at church and a lady turned around and told me to put on my temples and back of neck. It worked. Lol

  • 34w4d. Had an NST today, and Baby A's heart kept decelerating, so they sent me downstairs for a biophysical u/s to check on fluid levels etc. Both boys are doing fine, but because of the u/s I missed my OBGYN appointment which meant that after sitting and waiting forever for an u/s I went upstairs and sat and waited forever to see the doctor.

The upshot being that everything is good, but man, what a long day. :( I finished putting away all the baby things and all we have left to do is install the carseats ... I think I'm about ready for these babies to come!

  • I'm 20 weeks 2 days with boy girl twins.
I had no appointments last week and none scheduled for this week. I did go in today to get checked as I've had intense rib pain but in the back of my ribs for 5 days off and on. But today it was constant and things that gave me relief before didn't at all today. I ended up having trouble breathing and got clammy. Things checked out fine and they think I pulled a muscle. So I was sent home with muscle relaxers. I'm a 4k teacher which means I'm very active and on my feet all day long. I've about had enough!!! My days are long, patience is wearing thin, things are getting hard (like tying shoes!), and my feet and legs are getting quite swollen. Anyone have advice how to keep working an active, demanding job while staying somewhat comfortable?!?!

  • 29w3d with di/di team green twins. Had u/s this morning to monitor for practise breathing... Babies gave the tech a hard time.. Didn't observe the diaphragm moving and she would have liked but she said they were moving around like crazy and she wasn't that concerned. Seeing the OB on Thursday. Baby A is breech and Baby B is head down. I hope A decides to turn bc I do not want to schedule a c-section! Having trouble sleeping so I'm tired during the day. Legs are swollen, hips hurt, baby A is constantly digging in my ribs, B is kicking out my sides and I am miserable. Someone is constantly in my crotch area and swishing their fingers/toes around and it is SO uncomfortable! What has been a mostly moody-free pregnancy is quickly coming to an end. I need everything done now and my husband is not bring as big a help as I hoped/expected him to be at this point. I dragged the empty diaper genie up the stairs tonight and H got upset that I was carrying stuff up the stairs! Hello! Who else is going to?!?!

Sorry for the wall of text- mobile bumping

All of this exactly, and especially the stuff in bold!! I think my husband sees me lounging and rather than picking up the slack, lounges even MORE than he used to. He says "wow we just can't stop you!" when I start cleaning/chores, but I am just freaking SICK of asking him to do things and him ignoring it completely. Really nervous for when the kids come.
The swishing around the crotch is the best way I have heard that put! That is exactly what it feels like - then in the upper part, I feel like I'm microwaving a bag of popcorn in my uterus.
Oh third tri, you miserable bitch.

Next appt is w MFM on nov 7 (16w) for consult and u/s. OB appt is right at 18w but can't remember the date.
  • 31 weeks. I go into the hospital Nov.7 due to IUGR to have these little babies. We will be attempting a vaginal delivery!! I will be monitored daily until they decide its time for them to come out since B just will not grow. Cord flow and everything is ok still just B is lagging too far behind at this point so I have Bi/weekly NSTs and OB checks until I go into the hospital. But Nov.7 is the latest they will let me be home before I go in and take it day by day until they arrive.

  • 31 weeks! Di/Di twin girls. Growth us today went great they are 3lb 10oz and 3lb 13oz. Received some steroid shots this week due to some (a lot) of strong contractions breaking thru the procardia I was given to control them in the last week or so. They set up weekly monitoring at Mfm today and only scheduled it for 4 weeks out....that made this feel very real!

I did so much baby laundry today, sorting onesies by size and folding a billion towels, blankets, cloths... I need shit organized YESTERDAY and I want the garbage and cardboard from our new items gone. I asked my husband to put together our bouncer... ONE bouncer, OH MY! The production!!

I need a chill pill over here. Or a Twix!

  • I had my twins last Friday at 37w6d. Despite everything looking good on the growth ultrasounds and baby girl only measuring a few ounces behind her brother, she was born weighing 3 pounds, 3 ounces. The last growth ultrasound was on 9/17 and estimated her weight at 4 pounds 2 ounces. I know those can be wrong, but even if she were a pound less that means she didn't grow at all the last month. The neonatologist suspects IUGR. She will spend some time in the NICU. Baby boy was 5 pounds, 14 ounces and is doing great. We took him home on Tuesday. It was bittersweet. Thankfully the hospital is only 5 miles away so we can visit a couple times a day.

I'm going to continue seeing the MFM every 2 weeks because baby girl had less fluid in her sac. They're not too concerned because they're fraternal but they just want to monitor it.

  • Hi ladies! I'm a newbie at 9wk 6d. We just found out last week that we are expecting what looks like identical twins. I see a perinatologist on Nov 7th so should know more then. The initial shock and terror has mostly worn off and excitement is setting in. DD is 16mo and will be just shy of 2 when the twins arrive. Feeling overwhelmed about the logistics of having three LOs (strollers, fitting them in our car and house, etc). Nausea is getting better, but I'm constantly eating and exhausted! :)
  • 30 weeks 5 days but measuring 36weeks! Babies look good. No dilation or cervical thinning. I've started seeing my OB weekly and starting at 32weeks will see my Peri weekly as well. I've had a really easy pregnancy with no complications, thank God!. I'm getting more and more uncomfortable and having a hard time sleeping but overall doing good. C-section scheduled for Dec 19th at 38 weeks!

  • Will be 30 weeks tomorrow with boy/girl twins. Overall doing pretty well but I am not sleeping much and by mid-afternoon I am usually so exhausted that I just want to cry. Will probably need to start cutting back on my work hours a bit and/or working from home some. But so far my doctor hasn't told me I had to yet so fingers crossed I can squeak out a few more productive work weeks.

The babies were doing great at my MFM appointment last week and I had started to convince myself that I was really going to be able to make it to 38 weeks. This little bubble burst a bit last night after our final childbirth class at the hospital when we got in the elevator with a neonatologist, who started up a conversation after seeing my large belly. He told me that the average twin delivery happened by 35 weeks so he said I would be lucky if I made it to December at all. Great - thanks random stranger for bumming me out.
    BFP #1 on 12/15/11 but missed m/c with d&c on 2/1/12.
BFP #2 on 5/1/13 = boy/girl TWINS with EDD of 1/3/14 but expected no later than 12/20/13.

@kaloramakb - call me a bad mom but I am looking forward to having these babies before 38 weeks!!!

  • I'm new here, 8w2d today. I had my first ultrasound and appt with my OB on Wednesday at 8w0d and that's when we found out it was twins. One was measuring 8w0d, the other was 7w5d. OB said they both had good heartbeats and a thick membrane between them and that the size difference wasn't a big deal because they were still pretty close. I was nauseated and just feeling horrible week 4 through 8 and just a few days ago started feeling better and able to not take nausea meds. I go back on the 18th for an NT scan I think, they told me it would take one hour per baby. Hoping to get some good pics and great news :-)
