Hardest time with twins

I have been terrified of the stress that bringing home my twins would bring. On top of my twins I have a just turned one year old. So, imagine my surprise when a month home I'm finding I'm managing a lot better than I though. However, they do mostly sleep and only cry when hungry. They were born at. 36 weeks so maybe they just haven't woken up yet? Or, maybe they do have a relaxed personality? Don't get me wrong I'm exhausted bc one is always up be night feeding...but they just grumble not really cry. I'm just curious could I really be this lucky? Or is the really tough times waiting for me. Please note my oldest DD was born at 28 weeks so everything was very different for me and I'm just not sure what's "normal".
After three miscarriages and one ectopic pregnancy we are currently pursuing adoption. " Born not from our flesh, but born in our heart. You were longed for and wanted and loved from the start."

Re: Hardest time with twins

  • My girls were the exact same way--born at 34 weeks & from the start suuuuper chill. I kept waiting for them to grow strong enough to throw proper fits, but they're at 5 months and they are still just the chilliest ladies! Developmentally they're right on with their peers & we're enjoying their little smiles and giggles.
I hope things continue going smoothly for you! Enjoy : )

  • You are giving me hope. I have a 5 yo and a 1 yo and am expecting twins. I still am stressing about how it is all going to work out. My other two were pretty good babies, so I hope that the next two will be too.
  • I had one really laid back baby, and one not-so-much. Now, neither of them is thrilled with being left to chill, for the most part, at 9 months adjusted. ;) Thankfully, having one of each made the early days manageable (if I had two of DD1, there's no way I would have made it out on the other side!)

  • You're so lucky! Mine were born at 36w and it didn't take long to know what we were in for! Constant crying, no sleeping and fussiness by a month old for sure. I hope it stays that way for you because my god the latter is so hard!!

  • My babies are pretty laid back most the time. We do have our days where they are needy. My friend has one reflux baby and one with colic. I don't know how she does it.
  • Mine both started out like that, but as they came out of the haze once certainly became clingier (if that's a word).  I don't want to burst your bubble though and I truly hope they are just relaxed babies for you!
  • My babies are pretty chill as well. I have boy girl twins and they just turned 4 months old on Friday. I also have a 2 year old who keeps me nice and busy! Life has been good... challenging, but good :) Congrats to you!

  • The first four months were torturous for us and then things started to gradually get easier. Now that they've started climbing on everything, the challenge level has risen once again :).

  • Mine were born at 34w, came home a day shy of 36w and were fairly chill for a few weeks until they hit their due date. Then it got hard. And I had a screamer. We joke that if they had been singletons, baby A would have gotten a sibling, but I would have shut it down if we only had baby B, he's a screamy fuss bucket. He has reflux and before that was diagnosed, all he did was scream all day.
