Ten Things

1. Yesterday I found out that my Aunt likely has lung Cancer.
2. My mom has also been hospitalized with pneumonia.
3. I'm going to be moving soon and it's going to be a PITA.
4. I'm thankful that my job uses "Emergency" days as opposed to sick days.
5. MIL is getting sick. As a result, I'm probably going to have to use one of my aforementioned E-Days tomorrow.
6. I'm feeling very stressed out by 1, 2, 3 and 5.
7. This is not a happy ten things.
8. On a more positive note, LO loves oatmeal.
9. She also likes butternut squash.
10 . I miss her.

1. DH is working from home this morning. I love having him here even though he's working and not hanging with us.

2. He made the coffee this morning and used his cherry coffee. I despise all things cherry. Thank goodness for vanilla syrup which somewhat masks the taste.

3. I'm so mad about my phone screen shattering last night when it fell. Otter Box FAIL.

4. I can't see what I'm typing very well because of said shattered screen.

5. I'm an idiot and tried to send my mom a screen shot of what my phone looks like now.... I'll just leave it at that.

6. M threw a fit last night while I was in the shower. She apparently only wanted me and not Daddy. When I got out of the shower, she was screaming so hard that she couldn't catch her breath. It made me so sad.

7. Her baptism over the weekend went really well! She looked so sweet in her gown that my mom made out of her own wedding gown.

8. I haven't looked at the calendar because I don't want to know for sure, but I think I've only got about 5 weeks of mat leave left and I tear up every time I think about leaving M at daycare.

9. Today marks 2 years since my dad passed away.

10. I will be so very happy when DH finishes his Masters program next spring. It is such a huge time suck and we both hate it!

1. This is my first 10 things

2. We are having a play date today and I really need to get in the shower.

3. LO went to sleep super easy last night, no rocking required! She fell asleep while nursing, but I'll take it!

4. One of my cats jumped in the crib and woke her up about 15 minutes later and I was furious.I'm glad I was watching the monitor (they don't have access to her crib after we go to bed).

5. LO sucked and swallowed a few times from a bottle yesterday!! She didn't even drink half of an oz but this is still major progress! Tommee Tippee FTW!

6. I think LO might be getting a cold but I don't know how to tell other than she sounds stuffy.

7. I'm thinking of trying sleep training to teach LO to fall asleep but I keep putting it off.

8. We went to visit our friends with a 10 day old baby and I do NOT miss that stage yet.

9. Thinking of 10 things is much harder than I thought it would be.

10. I ordered some shampoo this morning that is supposed to help with postpartum hair loss. I'm skeptical.

1) work is actually slow this week. They reorganized our teams to "spread around knowledge" but now they have no idea where new projects coming in should go.

2) with the reorganization we had to submit our remaining vacation time and we haven't heard if it's been approved.

3) I had a cold last week that was killer but I sucked it up, worked, did all the shopping, laundry watched DS etc. my husband now has it and thinks he's dying and is making messes everywhere and not cleaning up because he's "too sick"... men

4) DS got his big boy high chair yesterday and we love it

5) our friends just had twins last week. My uterus threw up at that thought.

6) apparently my dog is going through a regression too. She wants to be the baby and be held and rocked like DS. She's 65 pounds

7) When we work on sitting with R, he sees his feet and face plants trying to get them.

8) I've learned the reason I'm not losing the rest of this weight is due to my mother. The woman brought me a chicken biscuit today for breakfast.

9) first time in our marriage I can say my Jets have a better record than my husband's Giants

10) my older siblings are being jerks to each other and my dad.... Only reaffirming that I'm the favorite child.

1. I found Madison's third tooth 3 days before she turned 5 months.

2. She also said mama that day, DH was sad but now all she says is dada lol. So I always tell him, she's calling you.

3. I cannot believe Halloween is next week, I'm so excited to bring Madison to the fall festival.

4. Finally we are bringing DD to the pumpkin patch this weekend.

5. I started Madison on oatmeal and she loves it! She makes a mad noise if I don't give it to her fast enough lol.

6. I really want to redo my bedroom and rearrange the living room.

7. I can already picture DH rolling his eyes.

8. I need to stop eating Halloween candy!

9.My best friends one year old daughter died a few days ago in her sleep.

10. My heart breaks for her so much, her baby was born at 24 or 25 weeks last year in october and they didnt think she would survive but she was a fighter.

I'm so sorry for your friend. My heart aches at the thought.

1. I just dropped my sister and my nephew off at the airport. We had a great week.

2. I don't have any more visitors scheduled, and it makes me sad. I love for G to have more people loving on him.

3. I wish H's job would get going on holiday leave schedules so I could buy plane tickets and have solid plans to look forward to.

4. G had his first trip to Lego Land and to the San Diego Zoo this week.

5. I had fun. He had fun. But worrying about the sun/shade/sunscreen was a fun suck. It's harder to keep him shaded now that he's in the stroller without the carseat.

6. He had really bad gas last night, and was over tired. Gas drops worked wonders and he actually fell asleep on my chest for the first time in months. I miss the snuggles.

7. He's been on a crib strike. He goes down no problem, but from about 11pm to 6am, he refuses to even touch the crib mattress. H comes home tonight so I can't bring him to bed anymore. It's going to be a looooong night.

8. All the sightseeing this week helped me get better at nursing in public whenever I need to.

9. It's starting to get 'cool' here in San Diego, and I need to clothes shop.

10. I took my mat clothes to consignment. I almost cried. For saying goodbye to pregnancy, for the tiny amount of money I got for them, and for saying goodbye to the comfiest jeans EVER.

1. I need to get LO more cold-weather clothes. It got really cold really fast here.

2. At the same time, he's growing so quickly, and I always over-buy and end up with stuff he never wears. I need to find a happy medium.

3. I cannot WAIT for Thanksgiving.

4. I cannot WAIT for the weekend.

5. I cannot WAIT for any time off at all. Work is overrated.

6. I'm tired. LO has shifted his sleep schedule and now sleeps until about 5 am everyday - which is fine, I just need to shift MY sleep schedule, too.

7. I'm glad I get to spend more time with him in the morning now.

8. We got one sneak peek photo from our photographer and I can't WAIT to see the rest. I'm so glad I got pictures done while he's this age.

9. I have LO's "school picture" right at the bottom of my monitor. I have pictures of him all over my office, but get buried in work and don't look at them enough. The ones on my wall are already a few months old and I really need to update them. But his school pic is front and center and I stare at it all day. His smile is infectious and I can't help but smile when I look at it.

10. LO will be six months old on Saturday. SIX MONTHS!! How is time going by so fast?!?

I couldn't think of anything worse in life. My heart breaks for your friend. So sad.

@CNJ4EVA so sorry to hear about your Aunt. Mine was diagnosed with lung cancer about 3 weeks ago so I know how awful it is. She gets her biopsy this week. She's only 50. How old is your Aunt?

I'm so sorry to hear about your aunts, both @CNJ4EVA and @Lolalipsy. My dad also has lung cancer, but it's not exactly surprising considering he smokes three packs a day (STILL) and has for 40 years.

1. I'm furious with my step mom for putting my family through hell repeatedly.

2. My dad actually seems glad to be done with chemo and is excited that they told him he could now do whatever he wanted.

3. His first order of business was to "get as high as he did in the 70s". Interesting choice, but who's going to knock a dying man's wish?

4. While we were staying in my mom's guest room, four mouse traps went off within 15 minutes (in the bedroom!)

5. I get that it's a country house, but I'm over it. Hotel for sure next time.

6. DS slept through the night the past two nights.

7. I'm hoping and praying that the regression is over.

8. It seems bizarre that he can go from waking up every hour to sleeping 9 hours straight.

9. I feel like a while new person after the much needed sleep.

10. My boobs were NOT ready to sleep that long.

1. I think DD is officially in a sleep regression. I didn't want to admit it, but that doesn't help.
2. Today is DH's bday and MIL is watching DD so we can have a date.
3. DD sneezed this morning and then said "Uh-oh"
4. I can't stop eating my halloween candy.
5. Halloween candy is expensive.
6. I'm considering giving up on my baby food making adventures. As expensive as the jars are, this is hard work.
7. I went to the doctor yesterday for sinus infection and he wanted to treat me with COLOSTRUM CAPSULES. Maybe I should save that for WTF Wednesday....but WTF?
8. I don't know how to style DD's hair. It's too long for headbands and too short for clips. Baby mullet prevails.
9.I want to go to Carrabba's for dinner, but I guess I should let DH pick.
10. I hate renting cars.

No surprise that she's been smoking for 50+ years. Under the circumstances, she's actually pretty lucky the big C held off until age 78!

1. LO Started rolling over Firday evening! I was so excited for her, but I secretly wondered if she already started rolling over at day care and they just didn't have to heart to tell me... 2. It's homecoming week at the high school where I teach and I totally let my students watch the movie "A Beautiful Mind" instead of continuing with their lessons. Lazy- I know. 3. I'm still EBF and I have NO sex drive. And by no, I mean absolutely none. I feel like a terrible wife. My poor hubby... Does it get better after weening? 4. I am currently eating a cupcake that is FOUR inches in diameter. (Part of the homecoming celebration) 5. Online shopping is my new favorite hobby! Not for myself ofcourse, but for my DD. 6. I want to adopt. In fact, I feel a very strong assurance that I'm called to do it. It scares me. 7. Back to this cupcake- I scrape the icing off of cake, cupcakes, Oreos, etc. No, not because I'm saving calories, I just don't like it. Never have. 8. Total workouts since DD was born- zero... I'm ashamed. 9. DD turns 5 months old Thursday. Gah! 10. My ped recommended no cereal or solids until 6 months. I broke down and cheated last week and gave her a few feedings of very thin cereal. Hoping she'd sleep more than 3-4 hours at a time at night. No such luck.

1. This is my first 10 things 2. I love being a military wife but hate being so far from family now 3. We've lived in 6 states in 10 years 4. My husband leaves for 5 weeks in Jan and I'm scared of doing this alone 5. I realllly wish we still lived in FL 6. I have my first cold sore in over a year and hate that I can't kiss C 7. There's a weird bug in the kitchen under a glass waiting for my husband becuase I didn't know what else to do with it and I couldn't kill it 8. I'll never drink out of that glass again 9. I graduated from RN school this past Dec and the longer I'm a SAHM, the more I'm worried no one will hire me becuase I don't have experience but I love being a SAHM 10. This is a big one....C just put himself to sleep in his crib for a nap with no crying or fussing, unheard of! 10a. I have no idea what to do with myself becuase he usually only naps while I hold him ***ETA sorry for the format! It never works right from my ipad. Frustrating!

Hello soulmate... I too will scrape off frosting until there is just a very very thin layer, and will squeeze Oreos together, wipe the edges off until they have the desired amount of cream in the center.

iPad tip: You have to hit the icon at the top of the reply box that looks like a little white page with two <> in it. If you hit that before you start typing your formatting will work. (You can do it after typing but you will have to fix your paragraphs again.) It's so dumb. I also recently realized you can't post GIFS from the iPad.
