Where do you find full fat yogurt?

I cannot find it anywhere!  Everything Walmart or my local grocery store has is lowfat, reduced fat, no fat, or whatever.  I know the fat is really important for DD's brain development, and especially since whole milk is on hold for right now in favor of soy milk (waiting to rule out a milk allergy), I want to be giving her yogurt more often.  I don't necessarily need the YoBaby kind (it's so expensive and I can rarely find it anyway!), but is there another brand or another place I should be looking?

  • YoBaby is really the only option for full fat. Stonyfield farms makes it.

You can also give Greek Yogurt (Total by Fage), but that's MORE expensive than the YoBaby.

If you can't find YoBaby, then you won't find any Greek Yogurt either most likely.

You need to try a supermarket chain - ShopRite, Pathmark, Wegman's, etc.?

  • The only whole milk yogurt I found was organic, and it was usually yobaby or the big jug of stoneyfield farms (which makes yobaby). I give DS Breyers which is LF but he also drinks Whole milk. Honestly when I compared the price of the yobaby to the breyers I'm buying him now its only $1 and change difference. I'd easily switch back to yobaby but DS is loving the kind I'm giving him now, so yobaby isn't THAT much more expensive, but I understand every little penny helps, that's why we switched in the first place.
  • i just have to look every time i go, and stock up when i can find it. it IS hard to find. i just get the big containers of full-fat plain yogurt (sometimes i can find dannon, sometimes stonyfield farms, sometimes the walmart brand) and mix applesauce or bananas and/or cinnamon in it.

sometimes i can find it at walmart, i can almost always find it at whole foods (naturally) and sometimes at our local grocery chain. just look everywhere!

  • We use Dairyland Lil Ones yogurt, but I'm not sure if it's available in the U.S. It's more expensive than regular yogurt (and sometimes a little harder to find) but much less than the YoBaby. Before I found that we just bought her plain Balkan-style yogurt by Astro and mixed fruit into it at home.

  • We shop at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's -- both have the large containers of organic plain whole milk yogurt as well as YoBaby.

  • Moutain High brand makes a full fat yogurt.  It doesn't actually say that it is full fat or whole milk or anything like that on it though.  They have some that say Lowfat, some that say nonfat, the ones that say neither are full fat.

  • Trader Joe's also has individual containers (solds in packs of 6) of full fat yogurt.
