What are you doing with your older child during delivery? Repeat, scheduled c-section on a Monday. I can send her to daycare all day, I can send her part of the day, or we could keep her home/at the hospital with my mother. I feel torn between having my mom pick her up after nap to bring her to the hospital and having mom pick her up after LO is born and we are settled so she can meet her sibling right away. What are you guys doing?
Re: STMs, older child during delivery?
We have to have a variety of contingency plans because I won't be induced (at least it is unlikely). I wish I was only for the convenience of knowing which plan to follow through on. For number 2, I was actually induced on a Friday and my MIL was able to fly out. We sent our son to daycare and my MIL picked him up. His brother wasn't born until 6 p.m. and she brought him the next day to meet the baby.
For this one, we will have to have three different plans:
1. If I go into labor on a weekday during the day (while kids are in school/daycare)
2. If I go overnight on a weekday
3. If I go on a weekend
It will all depend, but my MIL will be on standby, but she is 40 minutes away. We will also have our neighbors on standby. We will determine when the boys will meet their sister depending on what time of day she makes her debut. We will keep the boys on their schedule as best as possible.

I'm a scheduled c-section on Monday as well (at 12:30), so we will do our normal morning routine with DD and send her off to "school" (DH & MIL will probably take her) and then my MIL will pick her up and bring her to the hospital after "school."
My MIL/FIL arrive the Friday before my c-section, so as long as this baby doesn't mess with our plans and come early, we have a pretty easy schedule.
If the baby comes early, all hell is going to break loose

Thankfully, it works out now that delivery on a Friday means that there will be no school issues before I go home from the hospital. Of course that all can change if I deliver earlier than 39 weeks.

If it's a weekend, not much will change, the boys just probably won't miss school.

Our Mary Poppins babysitter, Anna, will be watching DD while DH is at the hospital with me. It looks like I most likely will be having another C/S...so at least scheduling everything will be easy enough.
Anna has stayed overnight with DD before, so I feel comfortable leaving DD with her for a day or two.

I have become very close with a family at church. I was asked the other night if we would mind them being his 'grand parents' since they have none of their own. (Their daughter is one my friends and we are close too.) I know if it gets bad, no matter what time, I can call on them if necessary.

Started our exploration into the world of international adoption June 2012. We have no idea what this is going to look like but we are excited to find out!
My last pregnancy ended in an emergency induction on New Years weekend. My mom lives here but she's in finance and the end of the year and end of the month she was unable to help. Thank god we had an unemployed very close friend who stayed with them till my IL's drove in that night from 8h away.
This time I'm just waiting and seeing how it's going to play out. I start my NST's much earlier this time so I'm hoping it won't be another show up for an NST and go upstairs for an induction.
In a bind we have friends and family close and they'll help where they can but hoping to make it till her due date and then my IL's will be here for a week.
Guess I got some planning and things to work out just in case..
Right now we have it planned that my mom will come up to be home with the kids at night. Depending on when labor starts and what part of the week the kids could be in daycare and my mom would pick them up and stay home with them. Otherwise when ever she gets to our house we'll head to the hospital.
This has been in the back of my mind for a bit and I don't know how it's going to work out.
This exactly!!!! We have different plans depending on when I go into labor. I am due first week of jan. So we have plans week/weekend. School in session or out on break. Night or day!! It's stressful. I have a 10 yr old who lives with us and my 8 yr old step son we get every weekend. So it's a fun fun plan!
I dunno ... that's our tentative plan right now!
