Breast Pump Coverage Excluded?

Has anyone been told their policy does not cover the breast pump due to an exemption (or perhaps grandfathering)? I was just wondering if anyone else has been told this. I have BC/BS and I know our company was grandfathered in on a lot of things, so much of the ACA doesn't apply to me because of that. But I was wondering if I should try calling back or if there's another route I should go through?

    Also, to clarify, I was told even a manual wasn't covered.

    It should be covered. i also have bc/bs and it only covered a manual pump. i would check with your human resources dept on this and bc/bs. i was able to get mine under the obama care act. just make sure you purchase yours thru an approved vendor.

    Even though you both have the same insurance provider, you have different plans through your employers.

    My insurance did Not cover one. However, I was able to pay for it through my flexible spending account. And we purchsed it at the hospital, for less tgan it was in stores. And I did get a manual one in the hospital, too.

    I was told the exact same thing by my insurance company. My husband also called a couple months later and was also told the exact same thing. Kind of crummy. Oh well.

    I was originally told the same thing, that it wasn't covered. But after my hubby did a little research for me, he found out that manual pumps are available under the obama care act for ALL new moms. Make sure that you relay this to bc/bs. The people that you are talking to may not be up to date on the new law. I had to make several calls, but eventually I got thru to to right person.
