Christmas is coming/When do you stop buying stuff

We don't buy a ton of toys for Ernie but she does get things once in a while. Obviously I am aware that at this age she has no idea what month it is or that Christmas is coming...But when do you stop buying stuff and say "Christmas is coming! Let's see what Santa brings you!" Beginning of December? November? Their birthday?

My birthday is in November so I feel like I heard "your birthday/Christmas" is coming for like 4 solid months of the year.

  • I've already said "ask Santa" lol. Santa has stuff in my car.

  • Clothes don't count since it's getting cold and she needs them. I have bought a couple new books for trips but that's all. She has a ton of toys and no need for new ones. Oh I did buy a couple puzzles last month but those are educational :). I've bought her big Xmas gift so no need for anything else to be bought until then!

  • Halloween has been my cut off for all my kids.  My oldest child's birthday is Oct 17 so I figured Halloween is reasonable.

  • I'm going to a consignment sale this weekend and I'm also planning on giving him a few new toys when we fly to New Orleans next month. Those will probably be the last things he gets til Christmas.
