dry/raw spot on neck

DS has a spot at the base of his head on the back of his neck that is red and raw. It obviously bothers him because I can see him trying to rub it on the back of his bib or shirts. The doc said it is excema and where it is is making it difficult to get rid of. Any suggestions of what to put on it? I have been using hydrocortozone, but it just seems to either soak in or rub right off.

  • DS has a similar problem above his ear. It gets raw and crusty. Nothing has worked yet though. :-S

    Just the regular cetaphil lotion?
  • Cetaphil is what my doc recommended to us as well. (I got a big tub of it at Costco a while back, but haven't had to use it all that much)
  • Aquaphor over the cortisone cream will probably help keep it on. I get the same thing on my neck from a prescription I'm on. This seems to help.

  • @08summerbride yup I have the tub from Costco that @Jillibean68 mentioned. Attached PIP for you.

  • Thank you for the suggestions!
  • Breast milk? It helped Kim kardashian;). But honestly I've read it can help at least sooth it so it won't be as irritable for LO.

This is what our doctor recommended for our son. Works every time and very quickly.

This or Bag Balm helps too.  It actually works great on acid poo diaper rash... .better than desitin.  I use everything on my girls.  And definitely use something to seal in the cortisone.

She was such a creep secretly stealing Kourtney's breastmilk and rubbing it on herself!
