Pediatrician near Sanatoga/Pottstown

I'm having my first around Dec 11 and am looking for a great pediatrician near me. I live in Sanatoga/Pottstown but have no problem driving to Limerick/Collegeville if the practice is great. I'd prefer someone affiliated with Paoli Hospital since I'm delivering there. My OB in Collegeville has a peds office right there but was just hoping there was something closer for all those late night trips. Appreciate any suggestions :)

I've been looking into pediatricians in the same area and we've narrowed it down to Upper Providence Peds or PennCare for Kids in Limerick. I'm a FTM too so I don't have personal experiences but both places have come highly recommended by alot of friends and co-workers. I like that Upper prov is affiliated with Paoli but I like that PennCare has evening and weekend hours so that's just another suggestion. Best if luck to you!

I delivered at Paoli back in June but live in East Coventry. We go to PennCare for kids in Limerick and I LOVE Dr. Devaney. She is so sweet and recently had a baby herself, so I feel like I can talk to her mother to mother. The staff is also super friendly and when I call with questions I get to talk directly with a nurse who can give me advise without having to make a trip to the doctor. I too like that they have late hours and weekend hours, but just so you know the weekend hours are in Phoenixville. The Limerick office is also really easy to get to as it is right off 422.

Paoli has pediatricians on staff and all they do is come in and listen to the baby's heart and take a few vitals to make sure it's doing ok. They'll ask if you have any questions and then they're done. You'll get a piece of paper with the babies weight and measurements on it that you will take with you to your actual pediatrician to review.

I'll be happy to answer any other questions if you have any! Best of luck to the both of you.

Congrats!  We love Coventry Pediatrics.  They have late and weekend hours in the winter for sick visits (they've found they don't need them in the summer, and we've never needed it either).  There's a nurse line you can call if you have any questions and if you need to go to the office, they'll set up your appointment.  They have a second office in Exeter now.

Those are all the offices I was looking into! I already go to PMA in limerick for MY doctor, so that would be easy. My OB is MainLine down on Arcola rd-I'd just hate to be traveling down there too often. The other place I had been looking into was CHOP Primary Care Pottstown right behind Pottstown hospital on Medical Drive. I like that they're CHOP affiliated and close by, just not sure about personal care and the doctors themselves

What about right in Collegeville? That's where I live and am hoping to find one there. I was looking at Trappe pediatrics affiliated with Einstein.

When do you need to schedule your first pediatric appointment? I'm not due until July 4, but my ob told me they'll have the baby and i come back after two weeks postpartum for a check up. Should you go every 6 months for a baby check up?

It might depend on your doctor and your situation.  We wound up going back in a few days because DD had jaundice and they needed to follow up.  If I remember correctly though, it's every three months the first year, and then six months in the second year and annually after that.  Most doctors will have appointments available for newborn check ups to be scheduled as it's really hard to schedule those way in advance :)

Like belladonna, we also go to Coventry Pediatrics in Pottstown, and have had nothing but great experiences. I highly recommend them.

We do care network Pottstown. I saw it mentioned by someone above, it's right on medical drive and it's affiliated with chop. I switched there from reading ped and love it! We usually see dr bigelow. Once I called and they gave me a consult right over the phone! I didn't have to drag my sick guy out just to be seen. Nurses on call through chop 24/7 and linked to every specialist imaginable. Love them
