how far along are you, how are you feeling?
when are you plans to stop working?
if you left at this moment, how would your coworkers deal? what if you left at the end of today?
what's your plan if you go into labor at work?
anything else you want to talk about?
Re: the still pregnant and working check-in 10/21
38w6d. feel like hell.
when are you plans to stop working?
my hub wants today to be my last day..but i have a huge project i'm working on, and need to obtain approval tomorrow. i don't want people to think i'm skipping out on that.....but i also don't really want to do it!
if you left at this moment, how would your coworkers deal? what if you left at the end of today?
i've got most my stuff closed out, but not all of it. if i left now, they'd probably be upset that i'm not done with stuff that should've been done by now!
what's your plan if you go into labor at work?
several people have volunteered to drive me to the hospital. the biggest issue is the parking lot is a 10 minute walk from my desk.
anything else you want to talk about?
i'm soooooooooooooooooooooo done!!!!!!!! but not really.
39w6d and feeling ok. I mean, at 39+ weeks I'm not comfortable or anything, but nothing I wasn't expecting to feel!
I'm working up until I go into labor. Everything is in order for me to be out, so it's really just day-to-day stuff I'm still helping with.
I'm working from home now so I don't have to worry about commuting in 2+hours of traffic a day and my fear of my water breaking at work!!
I really wish EDD's weren't "estimated" and it really was the eviction date. The control freak in me is having a hard time coming to grips with the fact there are some things that can't be controlled! And yes, this is a GREAT preview to the rest of my life with children. I'm not confused about that!!!
Will keep working until this child comes out.
Honestly no one here expected me to show up today so my absence will not disrupt anything.
I work in the hospital i will deliver but depending on how I feel I might go home for a little while, we live really close.
Just went to the Dr and he actually said to me "I can't believe you aren't in labor". I am 3-4cm 80-90% effaced, baby is really low....lots of BH. Soooo...yea.
when are you plans to stop working? Regardless of when this baby comes this will be my last week. Generally I need to work right up until the end because I can't afford to take unpaid leave. BUT my PTO rolls over on Nov. 1 and I can only roll over 21 days, I have 25 saved so if I don't use those 4 days before Oct. 31, I'll lose them anyway. But every morning I wake up hoping for contractions so I can call in. LOL
if you left at this moment, how would your coworkers deal? what if you left at the end of today? Eh they'd be fine.
what's your plan if you go into labor at work? I really feel like this is a non-issue. I think it's highly unlikely that BOOM I'll be in hard and heavy labor. If it did, I'm right across the street from the med center so I'm actually much closer to the hospital than my house is. But most likely I'd drive myself home, finish packing my bag, wait for DH, make arrangements for DS1 and then probably labor at home for awhile before driving back into town to the hospital.
anything else you want to talk about? I'm totally over being pregnant this time. I'm also totally over working. With DS1 I had infinite patience and wasn't particularly uncomfortable. This time I just want him OUT. He's big, I'm uncomfortable and the longer I go the more I worry about my VBAC chances.
when are you plans to stop working? when I have my baby
if you left at this moment, how would your coworkers deal? what if you left at the end of today? I'm caught up on all projects and just helping with day-to-day work at the moment, and will be back working from home in about four weeks, probably checking emails in the mean time, so I won't really ever fully break from my job.
what's your plan if you go into labor at work? If my water breaks, probably just run home and grab a few things, get DD situated, then head to the hospital. If I start having contractions, I'll stay for awhile and finish up what I'm doing, set my phone and email messages for my leave, then go home to labor until things progress more.
anything else you want to talk about? Doc said at my appointment Friday my cervix might be a fingertip and wasn't favorable at all. Since my due date was a week off between my LMP and initial u/s dates, he said if I am favorable at my appointment this wednesday, he would induce me Thursday if I wanted (40 weeks according to my initial u/s). He is comfortable letting me go one more week though. When I told him I was slightly concerned about Cooper's size, but wanted to avoid induction if possible, he said, "well who knows what size babies most women can have these days. If all doctors induce at 39 weeks and your body isn't ready then you get a section, no one will ever know what you can or can't do." I like him.
when are you plans to stop working? When I have to go to the hospital
if you left at this moment, how would your coworkers deal? They'd be fine, stressed, but fine.
what if you left at the end of today? everything is done so it would just be the day-in-day-out stuff for them to worry about.
what's your plan if you go into labor at work? Go to the hospital or home depending on how it happens.
anything else you want to talk about? Just need him to hang in there 2 more days and I will miss my most stressful thing of the year - physical inventory (and I run it). Not what I was looking forward to going back to on the day I returned if the baby came before today.
Today I am 38 +6. Feeling tired, sore and frustrated that I haven't even felt a single contraction or anything to indicate she is ready to come. Although I am not overdue yet so I really shouldn't complain.
when are you plans to stop working?
This is my last shift rotation. Only 2 12 hour day shifts and 2 12 hour midnight shifts left.
if you left at this moment, how would your coworkers deal? what if you left at the end of today?
Wouldn't be an issue in my line of work if I had to leave today.
what's your plan if you go into labor at work?
Head home and have DH meet me there. Gather our stuff and head in
2) I reluctantly dragged my ass into work today, tying up loose ends and whatnot. I don't have enough time off to use any pre-delivery, sooo I'll be in the office...in yoga pants. Sorry, not sorry.
3) I'm totally prepared to be off for 6 weeks. Major things are taken care of, minor stuff has been farmed off to the interns. I'm basically just maintaining status quo at this point.
4) Squeal, and then get someone to drive me the 5 minutes to the hospital.
5) Last week, I was at a 1 and 0% and today I'm at a 4 and 70%, but still at -3 station, so we scheduled induction for Thursday, if he doesn't arrive on his own by then (I've had numerous abdominal surgeries and my OB/midwives don't want him to get much bigger and elevate my risk for complications).
I've been prescribed lots of sex and walking (which exhausts me just to think about), so when DH gets home from class, it is ON.
how far along are you, how are you feeling?
I am currently 38 weeks and 4 days. I am feeling alright, getting pretty uncomfortable. I don't think I've experienced any true contractions yet.
when are you plans to stop working?
This is my last week of work, so Friday is my last day!
if you left at this moment, how would your coworkers deal? what if you left at the end of today?
If today was my last day, things would be alright. I have not met with my long-term substitute yet (that's happening on Friday, my last day), but I have everything prepared for him.
what's your plan if you go into labor at work?
Honestly, I am terrified of this happening in front of my students. That's the major reason why I decided this will be my last week of work.
Just want to congratulate all the new mommies from October. I am super jealous of your beautiful babies!anything else you want to talk about?
38w 3d, feeling achy, tired and ready for little one to be here
when are you plans to stop working?
My plans were to go out about 2 weeks ago then I realized I'd be entirely too bored. My last day will probably end up being this Friday unless I go into labor before then
if you left at this moment, how would your coworkers deal? what if you left at the end of today?
They have been freaking out since I found out I was pregnant lol
what's your plan if you go into labor at work?
GTFO as soon as possible hospital isn't far away so I'd drive there if I could if not my husband works 4 minutes away he could swing and pick me up.
anything else you want to talk about?
only that this is how I feel about almost every person I cross now
