Both tubes clogged.....being sent to a fert. clinic for IVF

came back from the docs.....and they confirmed that both my tubes from the HSG test is clogged. so they are now writing up a referral for us to see a fertility specialist and to proceed with prepping for IVF. IUI is moot since my tubes are clogged.

this news was hard to take but at the same time expected since the day of my HSG the technician said the ink did not flow freely. i am deathly scared of IVF only because of the prep work and cost.

any advice on how to prep mentally for my first IVF consultation visit?

Thanks! you're right..the more info I know the better...im scared of needles, meds, and how much its gonna cost!

ill be 39 next month...so i have some time but not a whole lot. prior tests such as blood work, transvaginal ultrasound all came back normal....so i have normal follicle etc, and a good size ovaries and uterus. my husbands analysis came back normal too.

I'm sorry you're going through this...my first HSG my REs partner said "I know what's wrong! I know why you can't get pregnant...your tubes are blocked!" This was news to me bc I never tried to get pregnant...we wanted to o IVF for genetic reasons. I understand how you're feeling though...it's definitely devastating news. I changed REs and had the test again and the results were not the same....one was flowing fine and the other had mild blockage? I know HSG does produce a fair amount of false positives. Either way, I hope everything goes well and the shots aren't that bad! This is a great group of ladies full of wonderful info...goodluck with everything!
