Hair musings

So yesterday I was at the salon trying out a new stylists. I had a long a line bob to my colar bone. So I was at the cut it shorter or shape it to grow phase.

she asked how often I wear a ponytail. For me its kinda often. She said thats a tell tail sign you arent happy with your hairstyle. Which has me thinking... is that true? I figured im lazy. My logic is if I have gymboree at 10 but plan on going to the gym at 4 I wont wash and blow dry my hair. In a ponytail it goes because thats how it will end up anyway. Then I shower, im not gonna style it for night time soo...

Am I just really lazy? Lol. Do you style your hair daily regardless?

I pretty much only style my hair on the weekend.

    I wouldn't call that lazy at all, just practical. I do style mine everyday, but that's just because I work and I feel more "pulled together.". On the weekends I can take it or leave it, depending on what's on the agenda. If it's a weekend my H works and it's just going to be me and G, a ponytail is my BFF.

    I'm with you Nesse, my hair ends up in a pony daily. I work out during Dagnys afternoon nap and shower then. I do usually dry and straighten my hair after but even then it's gets pulled back later that night. I like my hair fine but when you have a kid and are running all over it's easier to have it pulled back.

    My hair is too short to wear up but my equivalent is wearing a head band, which I do every morning. I shower during Owen's afternoon nap most days so the head band goes on until then. It doesn't mean I'm lazy or that I hate my hair, just that I'm a mom and I don't run my own life anymore.

    Even when I fix my hair by the days end it's going to be in a ponytail. I dont think it's lazy as much as just practical.

    I wash, blow dry, and straighten my hair every other day. On the off days it goes in a ponytail because I can't really salvage it after sleeping on it all night. There are days that I wash it that I want to wear it up, but I don't because it feels like such a waste of soft, clean hair. Haha.

    I would have an easier routine if I cut it to shoulder length, but my hair grows too slow to do a major chop. It's just now looking somewhat decent after all my postpartum hair fell out.

    You will have time for a "real style" once Emery gets a little older, say 2-3. Right now we are still in survival mode lol

    I kind of agree, I think.

    When I first got my hair cut a few months ago, I absolutely loved it and wore it down all the time. Then it started to grow out (it was also a bob) and now I have ugly split ends and I really need to get it re cut and I wear it up probably 4 days a week. I want to get it cut again soon and I know it will make me wear it down more.

    So I think if you love your hairstyle, you wear it down more because it is more "worth it". Ya know?
