Another (but not your typical) teething question....

I have known all week my LO has another tooth coming in all week....

Today I noticed you can see it starting to break through the gum but its not all the way through yet to the point where you can really see and feel it. Make sense? (Probably not)

My question; when is the pain the worst? I know they say its ok when the tooth breaks through, but what about now when you can see it just starting?

Thoughts?

    Connor stopped fussing as much and punching his mouth the day it cut. I know when he is teething now when he drools like crazy, fussy as heck, and he punches his mouth (like really hard). 

    Also, it took about a week and half before his tooth fully erupted.

    I know exactly what you mean. For us once it is visible through the skin, he chills out... Usually takes a day or two!

    Did your LOs get runny noses when they started?  I think its for real this time, we've got a chin rash from drool, fussing, and a random super runny nose...

    I love reading all of the "expert" info out there that says they will be fussy for 3 days and the tooth will magically appear. And if they fuss for longer than this, it's probably not teething. Horse puckey! We've been on a rollercoaster these last 2 weeks and LO's mouth is bumpy, inflamed and we have no idea where he's going to cut first.  It's definitely all related to teething. He's drooling, has diarrhea, low grade fever of 99 degrees, crabby, not sleeping well at night. Via some good advice, we started baby ibuprofen in addition to teething tabs and that is getting us through. But teething SUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS around here.

    Thanks ladies! Her tooth broke through yesterday, but she's still pretty fussy and caughing etc. Just hoping the cough goes away and it's not the start of something worse.

    Teething really is the WORST.
