FB is blowing up with announcements

It seems like every day over the last couple weeks, my fb feed has had another announcement over so and so is going to be a big brother or big sister.

every. single. day.

I think I may need to take a break from fb for awhile. As much as I am happy for them, it brings on a lot of emotion for me.

I hate feeling this way and I hate that I am going through this.

I deleted my fb 2 or 3 years ago.

Not only the pregnancy announcements but just the general FAKE facade it provides.

I don't care if someone harvested 10 grapes on FarmVille.

Yea, I know what you mean. This is why I backed away from my BMB. Too many tickers. I am happy for all the ladies, I'm just sad for myself.

I have blocked pretty much every person who has announced a pregnancy in the last year from my news feed. Or just deleted them altogether if I didn't know them that well. That's how much it bothers me. I would love to take a FB break or get rid of it all together, but I'm afraid I have an unhealthy addiction FB and it's going to have to be a process!

Same here. I disabled my account for awhile bc every time I logged on I got pics of newborns, siblings, etc. Now I go on very sporadically, and I SKIM. I can't delete my account bc I do enjoy keeping up with family, but I recommend stepping away for awhile.

@kndeckar it was hard at first for me but now I don't miss it. It was a huge time waster. The only thing I have is this account and Pinterest.

I did twitter for awhile (less drama) but in the end deleted it too.

I thought about writing this exact post yesterday after another announcement. This was from a friend of mine from HS. Her DD is only a month younger than my DS and she announced they are having another girl. I am very excited and happy for them but that one stung more than the others! I also saw a pregnancy announcement the morning of my last BFN which marked the end of cycle 11 for us. They are just getting harder and harder to read. I feel like such a Scrooge because my reaction is not what it should be. I also feel like it is time for me to take a break from FB for a while. So sorry you're feeling this way too! I am right there with ya!

I have a love/hate relationship with FB as well. My cousin recently announced her edd...same exact freaking date as what mine was for my mc. The world seems so cruel sometimes. (For the record, she's great, happy for them, but now I know exactly where I should be without wanting to)

Yeah, facebook is like a minefield. It's a horrible place for IF and loss moms. We had a loss before getting pregnant with DS. When we got pregnant with DS, I never announced on facebook because I cried everytime I logged in after my loss and saw announcments, bump pics, and newborn pics. I figured anyone who needed to know about my pregnancy would know outside of facebook, and there was no need to post anything for my more casual facebook aquaintences knowing that there were other people out there who might feel pain from an announcement.
