Multiples

marathon training with multiples

Hi ladies - I was a 3:40 marathoner before I had my trio. I am wondering if there are any other MOM on here who can fit in training and how do you do it? I work fulltime as well and have been finding fitting in my runs to be difficult now that I am back at work. TIA

Re: marathon training with multiples

  • I've been able to train for halfs now that the girls are born -- a full might be a bit tough. I'm able to get in a good hour workout during the week @ work (we have a great facility on site) 2x a week -- and then I would go for the long weekend run absolutely first thing in the morning on one of the weekend mornings -- generally the girls would be up between 5:30 and 7 -- I'd feed them and pump, and then at least one of them would go back down, making it easier on dad while I was out.

Granted, we only have twins -- three would be a whole different level of crazy. :)

  • I just do halfs, but I'm really slow, so that's closer to a full for you. Heh. I didn't really have time to start doing them again until the boys were 3 or 4, but it really just depends on your life. Hard to say.
