Reaction to B-Day Cake?

Okay, so this was a new one for me. First, Boyo is super into trying new foods all the time, so i haven't been very careful about separating new foods out by days. This morning, I now realize, he had several new foods in one of the egg bakes - red pepper, onions, maybe the blend of cheeses. But? The reaction on his skin didn't happen until after he spent about ten minutes under a layer of chocolate frosting on his face. The reaction was mainly on one cheek and over one eye/eyelid. He was very resistant to eating any of the cake or frosting, but I thought it was because he was tired and cranky. Now I'm wondering if he's allergic to chocolate? It may just be topical, too, because of the caffeine component. Not sure what to think. Anyone else have this happen? Happy birthday, buddy. Poor guy. p.s. The swelling & redness went down after about an hour.
