Dogs helping us prepare

**Note: I realize that dogs are nothing like children. I can leave my dogs in the house alone all day and they don't scream at me. I don't even really like the term furbabies. But this happened and I almost lizzed myself (lizz=laughing+whizzing). So, funny dog story.

So, H was giving Aggie (our spaniel) a hug and picked her up which made Archie (our terrier) really jealous and he was barking at H. So H decided to put Aggie down and pick up Archie. Archie then responded to H picking him up by spraying pee on the floor and H. I imagine this is something that will happed with kids, so I told H (while laughing hysterically) that he should consider it practice. Anyone else have funny pet stories?

*Update to my cat issue from yesterday for anyone that read that wall-o'-text: He has benign cystitis. Still some blood in his pee, but as long as he's still peeing that means that the bladder and kidneys are okay. It should get better within the week and he's on antibiotics.

Re: Dogs helping us prepare

  • That's funny:)

I can't think of any funny stories at the moment but I do like to think that the fact that DH and I have 3 wonderfully trained and behaved dogs means that we are going to be great parents to human babies too.

  • We treat our two dogs like our own kids. Ok maybe slightly better. ;)

  • Oh, our pup is great practice. He wakes us up every morning, demands dinner time, we feel guilty if we leave him alone too often...

  • My dogs are pretty needy so hopefully they are preparing us some :)

One of them likes to lick my mouth to wake me up in the morning (GROSS I know!!) and the other barfs fairly regularly so I feel somewhat ready for nastiness!

  • I have/had 3 dogs prior to my son being born over 3 years ago. They definitely offer some sort of "practice" with regards to cleaning up puke, poop and pee. But nothing prepares you for a little one until they are here.
