For those who have gone through this already I am looking for insight.
For a little over a week now my LO has been waking up crying 2-3 times during the night sitting up. I know he is practicing in his sleep and he is disoriented to find himself sitting up but how can I help him to learn how to lay back down?
He knows how to soothe himself to sleep bc I put him to bed awake. For the passed week I have been nursing him and putting him back to bed. I have tried laying him back down without nursing but he gets back up on all fours and sits up crying. I have also tried letting him fuss for 10-15 mins before I nurse him to see if he goes back to sleep.
Does it truly take 2-6 weeks for this regression? Am I creating a bad habit by feeding him? TIA!
Edited to add: LO is 5.5 months.
