Only 4.5 Weeks and NERVOUS!!

My husband and I have been trying for a year and I found out on Oct 17 that I am pregnant. We are super thrilled and because of our long wait we have told our families and a few close friends. However now I am a nervous wreck that something will go wrong and this little tater tot will disappear.

If I have not had any cramping or bleeding, I should not worry right? I went to the doctor on Friday and the pregnancy was confirmed. They did a US and said that everything looked like it should....

I have also had no symptoms other than being VERY tired. Is that the same for everyone else?

Re: Only 4.5 Weeks and NERVOUS!!

  • It's perfectly fine not to have symptoms, cramps, or spotting. I had no symptoms with either one of my girls until later in my pregnancy, and even that was just heartburn from hell. Enjoy it :)

  • I had very few symptoms at 4.5 weeks also. Take care of yourself and try to not worry too much :)

  • Like you said, you are only 4.5 weeks pregnant. Symptoms tend to start at 6+ weeks when the pregnancy hormone gets higher. Why would you worry about NOT bleeding?

Relax :) You had the pregnancy confirmed and a sono already. I am still not feeling much of anything as far as symptoms. Enjoy this peaceful time before everything starts ;)
  • Congrats. I am 5 weeks 3 days. No cramping at all. I am just exhausted. I have not had an US yet probably at 6-7 weeks. Do not worry. It is ok not to have symptoms yet. You are very early.

  • I'm almost 8 weeks and I sometimes don't feel pregnant. I think it's normal to have feelings like yours too.

  • What do they see on an us at 4 1/2 weeks?

I'm 4 weeks 2 days, I will be glad to be in your shoes. No spotting, cramping, or symptoms. Quit worrying! You are just fine. Symptoms normally kick in around 6 weeks enjoy it while you have it right now!

    Congratulations!
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • I'm just about 5 weeks now and I haven't really had any symptoms other than some tired spells and my boobs have already outgrown my bras....but that's it so far.  I'm so scared I'm going to lose my pregnancy, as well, so I actually went out and bought more pregnancy tests today.  I POAS as soon as I got home and the line turned as the pee hit it and is like a million times darker than the control line....I think I'm still good :-)  But it made me feel better to still see it, at least until my first u/s this Thursday!

  • It's normal to be worried.  With my daughter, I had very few symptoms in the first tri, and she was perfect.  It's just a scary time.  Try and remain calm, keep yourself busy, and the days will keep passing.  One day we'll start to feel our babies moving, and then it's easier to stay calm about things (a little).

  • Congratulations!! We just found out 10/18/13. I too was completely exhausted for the last few days, and I was getting dizzy after taking hot showers. I have had little flutters of cramping, nausea, and tenderness and swelling of my breasts. I'm so excited, but we aren't telling anyone yet until we are further along. I'm not sure if I'll be able to hide it though. The nausea is every day now, and I have to constantly go to the bathroom.

My first doctor's appointment is next week right before I hit 6 weeks. I'm really excited and nervous.
