Book recommendations

I found myself jealous this morning as I read the "Marco..." Thread posts and people said their were reading their book. I don't think I've actually read a book since mid pregnancy. With winter approaching rather quickly and DS being on a fairly consistent schedule, I need to start reading again... Something more than "Little Blue Truck" and "Pajama Time." I would love suggestions with a little info about the book! Thanks. :)

Re: Book recommendations

  • I've been reading a mystery series by CS Harris. They are murder mysteries set in Regency time period. Not the highest quality reading material ever, but entertaining.

  • Thanks! I just want to be entertained. I read the Janet Evanovich, Stephanie Plum series a while back. I wouldn't necessarily consider them "quality" but they were a fun read.

  • You better jump on the "Fifty Shades of Grey" bandwagon, lol.  This series is the last thing I've read which was when I was pregnant.  I'm glad you asked this, I could use some recommendations too!

  • The Fault In Our Stars. Forgot the author. Great quick read.

      DS1 4.4.11. &  DS2 4.18.13
  • Divergent! If you liked the Hunger Games genre. The last in this series is coming out this week! Another fave is Daughter of Smoke and Bone. If you're into sex and Vampires, The Blackdagger Brotherhood is sooo awesome. And my last rec would be The Name of the Wind. Patrick Rothfuss is the master of story telling IMO. I wish I had more time to read!!!
Loved Divergent, so excited for the next book!  Not too thrilled with the trailers for the movie though...

  • I agree with @AmandasndTj regarding Divergent and I read The Hunger Games series 3 times

  • I'm no help. The last thing I read was Fifty Shades last summer. Which resulted in getting pregnant! :\">

  • Being a major Harry Potter fan and not so much of a fan of Book-to-Movie things... The movies were actually alright and did justice despite having to cut a lot of things out because you cannot explain everything in a movie time length.

  • Silver Girl or anything by Elin Hilderbrand I find to be pretty entertaining.

The help I you haven't seem the movie. People love harry potter, I haven't tackled them yet and want to so refuse to watch the movies. I heard the kitchen house is great from an avid reader!

I loved The Help and read the Harry Potter series twice. Smart of you to wait on the movies but like @ClandestineX said, they did do a fairly good job translating it to film. Looks like. May be getting in yo some mystery novels. Thanks ladies!
