Double strollers

Moms of 2+, what did you do about a stroller to accomodate 2, and have you been happy with your choice? I love my City Mini, but will need something else for when baby comes. The Phil&Ted inline style is interesting (and expensive), but the sit 'n stand style may be a better choice since G is almost 3 and not riding in the stroller all that much anyway. And what about those skateboard-type attachments for standing on and riding? I've got time to figure this out, but it's something that's been on my mind. Would love some input.

Lurker here. We have the Baby Trend Sit and Stand double stroller. It's been great bc it allows for a car seat and allows my son to get in and out independently. Oh yeah, it was also inexpensive compared to many other doubles. (btw, congrats on your pregnancy!)

I picked up a Graco double (both face front, one in front of the other) at a garage sale for $40. It's been worth the $, but come spring I'll be checking garage sales and Craig's list for a sit and stand. T wants to get in and out too much and his weight in the front seat makes it hard to steer.

I didn't bother getting a double stroller and its been fine so far. I've just been putting Henry in the snap n go and letting hazel walk. If we go somewhere that I feel like hazel needs to ride she can go in her stroller and I'll wear him. I might get a collapsible wagon in the spring because I feel like I'll get more use out of it than a double stroller, but I'm not sure I'll even need that.

We have the city select double plus we have the glider board. We use it all the time & have been really happy with it.

I'm really pleased with our sit n stand. It's the joovy ultralight. We got it after J was 5 months and had moved out of his infant seat but it did have the attachment. It's great since it gives A the freedom to roam and a seat to sit if we are going to be walking far (zoo, neighborhood walks, mall shopping etc) for day to day quick errands and stuff like the doctors office we usually just use our single and A walks.

We got the Chicco double stroller since it fit with our infant seat. We mainly use it for walks around the neighborhood with the dog and we've used it at a few other fair/festival type places as well.

It's really big and probably wouldn't fit into most cars, but we have a Ford Flex - so we have no issues there. It pretty much just lives open/standing up in our garage anyway. We don't take it too many places.

It's been great overall, but if my kids were closer to 3 years apart I would have probably opted for a sit and stand instead. But since they are only 20 months apart - I'm glad we had the double stroller in the beginning.

we have a double BOB and love it. it works for us because we take it to beach, park, trail walks etc. we live in the city and it fits through 99% of business doors.

like TMNT, our babies are closer. since oliver was only 17 months when duncan was born, we were not looking for a sit and stand option. and honestly, if we had a baby right now, oliver would not stand. if he's not strapped in, he's running along side us.

I don't have a second kiddo but I'm sort of a baby gear fanatic so will weigh in if you don't mind. C has been a big stroller fan but has been increasingly asking to walk. I would assume that as your DD approaches when the baby will arrive, she likely not want to ride as much. If you have more than you need then it will just become irritating. In this case, if I were in your shoes, I think I'd go for a single with a ride-on board.

I'm with @ Miss Muffin on this - I've basically never had a time when I really missed having a double - we do a combination of Ergo/single stroller which has always worked. At any point, one girl can ride and one can be carried and the Ergo works for both of them.

I got a Joovy Sit and Stand of Craigslist. It's been a good stroller for two. Nate rarely rides anymore. He likes to walk and "hold on to the bus" (stroller) as he says. So, it's great for a kid who won't stay on it very long anyhow. Has a little seat that even has buckles or the option of just standing up.

I'd be surprised if your Dec10 kid will need/want a stroller when #2 comes, but we got a hand me down Baby Trend Sit N Stand that R loves to ride on...when he wants to! It's hit or miss, but it's nice to have the option for him to sit or stand on the back. He rode almost the whole time we walked the Mackinaw Bridge over Labor Day, but now when we take walks we put H in it but R never wants to ride.

We have this one too and it does the trick. I got it used so it wasn't too expensive. I agree with PP's that I usually end up using my single stroller (due to ease) and wear the baby. But we've used the double when going on long shopping trips or to fairs, etc. so it's good to have but wouldn't spend a lot of money. I don't think these kids will fit in strollers for much longer!
