UPDATE. I just ran it by DH and we both agreed on.......

Thanks ladies and a special shout out to CCAM for letting me steal her adorable son's name.

Trying to stay positive so Im looking into baby names. We already have a girls name picked out and my DSs name is Marco. MH wants another Italian boys name but not to be mean some are not good at all and can be really old sounding:)

I like these names but DH axed them:

DH and are are both 50% Italian, but we favor our other nationalities more (Irish, Scandinavian). We ended up picking an Irish name luckily because our boy has blonde hair and blue eyes. I have more names if you hate these!

Have you checked the baby name board? I love Nico, but think it's a little too matchy with Marco. I love Lorenzo, nn Enzo.

I hear you on the Italian names! My husband is Italian and our last name is super Italian. We didn't necessarily want to go that route but ended up using Luca for our DS. Its DHs middle name but I think it can go with a non-italian name if we end up having #2.

So I vote for Luca

Or what about Dominic, Dante, Anthony, Sebastian. I love Nico and Matteo....too bad they're taken!

Thanks ladies. I love Luca. MH has a friend we see maybe once a year who's son is named that. Would that make it off limits?

I'd use it! DH and I are both teachers so we have a lot of names that are off limits. Luca is a great name ( @ccam , great choice). Use what ever name you love!

I'd use it! It's not like you see him every weekend. Maybe make sure you choose a different middle name.

I'm late also, but love the name LUCA! I'm Italian and I agree on some of the boys names being very old school, or sooo common (we have a lot of Mario's in my family). One of our tour guides in Italy this summer was named Luca, and he was great!

We gave DD an Italian middle name, since our last name is very English, and her middle name is the same as mine (TERESA). It's easier with girls!

my family are all italians. We are all Johns or Joseph. And no joke there are like 6 of each. So my cousin named her son Gino (super cute) and I broke it up with Brayden which is by no means italian. Luca is good because I always think of a specific person attached to names. So it's one that isn't common and nice.
