Does anyone know of a good pediatrician in Eldersburg, Westminster or Reisterstown that will go to Howard County Hospital? I made an appt to interview Dr Hickey, but they said he doesn't go to HCGH anymore, just Carroll. Thanks!
Wow, really?! Dr. Hickey is DS's pedi and I am about to deliver #2 at HCGH assuming he'd see her there. Now I will have to call.
ETA: For anyone interested, I just called and since Dr. Hickey doesn't go to HCGH anymore, the baby will be checked out and discharged by the staff pedi at HCGH, but if there are any issues (jaundice, etc) they will call Dr. Hickey for instructions. Either way, we'd call Dr. Hickey's office and schedule an appt for 4-7 days after the birth. I assume this same scenario would work for any pedi that doesn't have privileges at your hospital.

Yea, I sent you a PM about it too. They didn't mention the part about the hospital calling him though. They said he stopped about 6 months ago and that they were moving towards not going to Carroll anymore either. Apparently most hospitals are trying to just have their own staff and not have the Pediatricians rotating in and out. I'm pretty sure they told me that they would see my baby as soon as 24-48 hrs after discharge. Do you recommend Hickey over the others in that office? I asked the nurse which Dr sees the most newborns and she said Frankel so I made an appt to meet her, but it's not for 2 weeks which makes me nervous.
Pediatrics in Odenton: ANNAPOLIS PEDIATRICS. I dont know if they go to HCGH since I work and delivered at AAMC. However they are a large group who has teams. So when you go for well baby visits you see your doctor. However when you need a sick visit they are able to get you in to see a team member, who has seen your chart, if not your child before. And they are able to get you in quickly. I see Dr. Turner at the Crofton or Waugh Chapel office. Dr. Lester is good too and Gywn Reece CPNP is wonderful!!
