FFFC

Mind if I start this a bit early? It's Friday somewhere, and I gotta confess now or I'll forget!

Re: FFFC

    Totes hate you. Jk

You aren't missing a thing. I never realize the ridiculous amount of clothes B has until I'm folding. And DH is no help. I asked him to put B in pjs tonight. I should've taken a pic of what she wore to bed tonight.

  • I love teaching, but this year I feel like I'm going to burn out. My students are driving me crazy.

  • DH does all of our laundry, but I do the girls. I hate it sooooo much. DH said since I insist on buying them so much clothes I can put it away, It is the price I will pay to put my girls in all of these cute clothes :)

I agree with the BF comment. I think its great to be proud of it and to support it, but posting pics of yourself doing it places it kind of weird to me.

Next week I have my first parent teacher conferences and I am freaking out. I don't know why

  • I am still breastfeeding and am like, meh, whatevs.
    It wasn't amazing to me.
I also come from a family and group of friends where it's expected and the norm, I never even considered FF unless I had an issue for some reason.
Next time I will probably FF after I go back to work.

  • I let Ashley pull out the dryer lint.
  • Henry doesn't understand the concept of sippy cups in the slightest, and I'm happy to just let daycare teach him how they work.

  • I am ignoring most recommendations for pregnant women regarding caffeine.  On the days I can stomach it (which is rare anyway), I will have as much coffee as I fucking want.  It never ends up being much anyway, but still!  Coffee is the reason I wake up in the morning, I'm not giving it up when I have an infant/toddler.

@Ziegeficker daycare potty trained DS. He absolutely wouldn't do it for me.

Just remember, it takes a village.
That's awesome.  And here I thought I was just being lazy.

Henry legitimately seems to handle new things a lot better when daycare puts him up to it.

one of my friends did a ton of research on this and unless you're drinking like GALLONS of coffee a day you're totally fine. Like 2000 mg of caffeine or something. At which point you'd need rehab.
Said friend has a PhD in Biology from Harvard so I tend to believe her.

Yea, my MIL laughed at me (heartily) when I told her I wasn't supposed to drink coffee back when I was pregnant with Henry.  I didn't wait around to see what she'd say about the lunch meat restrictions.  Because....come on....

  • I just bought the new Miley CD. I NEVER but music, and I hardly even listen to music, but this sounded like the sort of thing I'd enjoy in my car.

  • I actually did research on the lunch meat. the risk is lysteria.
There have been like 5 fetal deaths total from lysteria in the us in the past 10 years. And they were all from fresh fruit and veggies.
So statistically speaking, the risk is non existent. It's like 10,000 more times more dangerous to ride in a car.
I knew about the listeria, and you're right -- every listeria outbreak I've heard about in the past two years has been from greens, cantaloupe, or other forms of produce.

i limit during pregnancy only because i already don't drink enough water. i was pretty dehydrated when i went to the hospital and coffee, soda and stuff just makes me more thirsty.
This has been a big problem for me lately.  Normally it is not hard for me to drink water at all (it's all I drink other than coffee), but when I'm nauseated all day, all I want is Sprite.  It's terrible for me, and the dehydration gives me headaches.  Meh, it's a work in progress, but I don't like consuming all that sugar.

here's a new study. I love this stuff.
But OMG Did, don't you know we can't trust the CDC?!? They're clearly biased and lying to us!!!11eleventy!11!! (Inspired by a crazy cakes acquaintance on FB that doesn't VAX or believe anything from the CDC. Conspiracy y'all!)
I bet she has done a TON of research
    they always claim that
like, research where? In a secret lab?

I don't know that this is really a FFFC, but it fits with the conversation: it really irritates me when people imply that having a nanny is something only rich people do. When people ask me where K is going to daycare and I reply that we have a nanny (they don't need my whole back story) I often get a "ooooh i didn't realize you got paid that much!" Or similar shit. How the hell am I supposed to respond to that? I usually say something like, "it is very hard to get into a good daycare around here, the nanny is putting us in the poor house" but it irks me that I get put in this awkward conversation. My BIL is the WORST about this, and he does know why we pulled K from daycare and that we aren't wealthy by any means.
I'm with you on this. We usually get "it must be nice to be able to afford that" comments (which is another thing that irks the hell out of me). People have even ASKED us how much we are paying our nanny. Out of respect, we don't tell. That's private information, and just the same as me asking them, "What does your boss pay you?" Maybe that should be my response from now on!

  • @Ziegeficker have you tried sparking water like Perrier? I never drank it until I was pg with dd1. Now I am addicted!!!

I have, but I can't stomach sugarless drinks like I can a Sprite when I'm feeling queesy.  They taste extra acrid.  I have no idea why...that would be an excellent solution if only my body would get the memo.

I guess this could be flameful.... This morning I was in a rush to leave and forgot to tell my husband bye. I didn't even realize it until I was down the road when he sent me a text saying "bye to you too." Instead of saying sorry,I forgot, I told him that I left without saying bye because while I was asking him a question about E,he wasn't answering(he was still in bed) so I didn't figure he would answer to bye either. The sad thing is that blaming him came to me without even thinking, so maybe I blame him too often??
Meh, not flameful in my book! Sometimes I slip out the door without a goodbye to the girls or to H. The girls usually scream when they see me head out the door, so if they're distracted I just leave. Maybe that's flameful?? I can't stand to leave while listening to them scream, even if they get over it in 20 seconds.

  • I let my DS crawl all over the dogs bed. I know it is nasty and probably hasn't been washed in a year...but oh well. I figure I am helping to build his immunity by letting him get exposed to germs.

I do the same. When our dog is outside Ashley likes to close herself in the dog crate and wave to us.
