Postpartum Depression

How open are you (and intro)?

Hi! I finally started 25mg of zoloft around when my LO turned 5.5 months. It has made a huge difference- I ran away from home in the middle of the night, had horrible thoughts, fought with my husband and cried constantly. Things are SO much better. I have decided to be very open though and have told people that I have PPD and that I am doing things like taking medication to help. I just feel like it should not be something people hide, especially since it can be so debilitating.

For those of you that are diagnosed-how open are you? Do you wish you could be more open?

  • Good for you!! I am very open about it too....I figure if I can help a mama out there that is struggling, with this, it is completely worth it! Nothing to be ashamed of-happens to the best of us:)

  • I'm very open as well.  Hiding it does a disservice to other women suffering in silence.  The more we speak up, the other women will too.  It is best for us all!  Good job for being open :-).
PPD/PPA Mom...it has been super hard, but I'm making it! Slow steps...

Proud VBAC, natural birth, breastfeeding, cloth diapering momma!

  • I am very open as well about my PPA :)
