Plus size maternity clothes!

So after a lot of interactions with my dumb coworker who thinks I need to lose weight while pregnant, I went to Lane Bryant in the hopes of finding a plain black tshirt for my Halloween costume this year. No such luck--everything is fitted this season apparently. Started crying in the dressing room since I'm only 13.5 weeks and this belly is going to get so much bigger.

Then I took a chance on the Motherhood Maternity store in the mall, assuming they wouldn't have clothes my size. Wrong!! Not only were the tops true to my pre-pregnancy size but I could finally breathe again. Soooo much room for baby! Kind of trendy! Such soft materials! OMG I am so happy right now--I found my black tee and then some.

I'll post my costume once I make it tomorrow night! :)

Re: Plus size maternity clothes!

  • All my maternity clothing is from there, courtesy of my wonderful friends and family (best birthday present ever!)
Everything is SO comfortable. Very worth the $$

  • Agree! I returned my old navy jeans because the band was. SO uncomfortable, and was pleased to find their jeans super comfy! And they came in petite! Glad you found something!

  • Thanks for posting this.  I have been looking everywhere and haven't found plus-size at all.  Some people mentioned Target and Old Navy to me, but unfortunately they are just a bit too small for me.  Looks like I'll be running to the mall tonight.
  • I have a few pairs of pants and some shirts from Motherhood that I got last year, and while they are comfy, the pants are very "pilly" in the thighs and crotch. I've only worn them a few times. They are dress pants and not made of the best quality. I am very happy with the shirts, though.

  • Not totally in love with the Old Navy pants either. I might have to check out Motherhood. Glad you find something that works for you!
  • I love all of my motherhood maternity plus size jeans! Online has an even better selection than online. Old navy has plus sized maternity but it is hard to find. Just google "old navy plus sized maternity." And you'll find it! Amazon also has plus sized maternity.
  • MM is great, and in most malls, the customer service is fantastic too.

And shh... I loved my black capris so much they never went into the maternity bag... I wore them for 2 years between my last pregnancy and this one! tee hee

  • I have never bought anything from Motherhood Maternity and am considering buying a couple of pairs of pants. Pre-pregnancy, I was a size 14/16 depending on the brand. According to the size chart, I should buy xl, do their sizes run true to size?
