Babies: 6 - 9 Months

PP baby weight

It has now been 6 months since ive had my LO and i still cant seem to lose the last 10lbs of my baby weight...Ive tried everything! Has anyone else had this much trouble? Any suggestions? Within the first 2 months I was able to drop over 40lbs of my pregnancy weight...but im starting to become a little self conscious when I see other new moms that look like they just got off the runway and are only a few months PP. Why is it so hard to lose the last few pounds?

  • Your metabolism probably has adjusted for the extra poundage...all i can suggest is a little extra cardio or some strength training. I did paleo for a little which helped but after I got to PP weight i had to stop because i was too tired during my workouts

  • I actually lost all the pregnancy weight in the first 2 months after giving birth but since being back to work have put 10 lbs back on.  I know it's because I'm not eating the healthiest and I need to work out.  Funny, 10 years ago if I was a few pounds overweight I could stick to a diet for 2 weeks and be back in my skinny jeans.  Now I have no energy or willpower.  I do need to start working out though because lifting DD in her carseat is exhausting.
  • I've lost over 65 lbs of "baby" weight (I just got fat).  I'd like to drop another 6-7 lbs to be back where I was, but I'm ok with the way I am now.  I joined WW, and it really helped me drop weight quickly.  I'm still breastfeeding, and there's a setting that will adjust your points to accomodate the extra calories.

  • Thank you for all your help everyone!  I stopped BFing when my LO was a month and a half because I just wasnt producing enough for her. Im going to look into trying out WW, maybe that'll help me lose the last of this extra poundage haha. thanks again
  • I am embracing my new curves. Before I was pregnant I weighed 110lbs. I was weighing in at just under 200lbs went I went into labor, (I was VERY sick). I lost 35 ponds in the first 7 days PP. I now weigh in at 140. I know that I could maybe afford to lose a few pounds, but for now I am enjoying it. I have never had any curves and my husband loves it.
