Trying to Get Pregnant

TMI - Cervical Mucus/Tracking Question

Hi ladies - I'm new here. Been off of oral BC since January 2013. DH and I have been "actively trying" since May. I've been tracking my BBT and cervical mucus since May.

My question is simply this - if I "dig" for my CM and see a twinge of blood mixed in (CM is pink or creamy with a fleck of red), should that count as spotting? I have a feeling it's my period on it's way, as today is cycle day 28. The tiny amount of blood was in my CM yesterday evening and tonight, but I did not see blood on my underwear or toilet paper either day. I've never really had spotting, from what I can recall, and I have not noticed this in my CM prior to this month either.

I wouldn't count it unless you see it when you wipe.

ETA:  Just saw the post above mine.  Let me elaborate, I would just wait to count it when it actually works its way down.  I guess it's just a personal preference, as long as you're consistent.  If I found blood when I checked internally, I'd figure I'd see it on the TP soon, so I'd just wait to count it then.

  • Personally I count any evidence of blood as spotting.

Same here. FF won't switch you to a new chart until you report at least a light flow, so I figure even if the spotting "doesn't mean anything" I want to have record of it for myself in case it happens again.

This is what I was thinking. If I ever do have the more traditional type of spotting, I think there is a notes section in FF where I can differentiate the two.

    Thank you! :)

I was kind of surprised when I didn't see any blood externally today at all. Totally expected to wake up to AF this morning. That's why I thought it was kind of odd and wondered if it should count as spotting, since it was all internal and such a small amount. Since I don't recall this ever happening before I think I will just notate it, JIC. Thanks for your reply!
