Oh Katy elastic problems

I keep hearing that people LOVE their Oh Katy's but they always leak for us. I think its because the elastic is just shot. So I'm wondering how easy it is to replace the elastic. Do I just slip some new elastic in there, or is it more complicated than that? What about paying a seamstress to do it? Would it be worth it? Can anyone share their experiences with shot elastic?

    You have to seam rip the corners where the elastic is and sew back over it, but it's a quick and easy process. There are WAHMs who will replace elastic for low fees, but it's definitely worth it IMO to do it yourself.

    Well honestly I've not really like them since day one. But recently I saw a picture of DD wearing them as a baby (last year) and I realized the leg openings were actually tight then, unlike how they look on her now. So I guess I was just hoping that maybe redoing the elastic would help. 
    But yeah, they've kind of always leaked. I don't understand why, since some people swear by them.
