Oh Katy elastic problems

I keep hearing that people LOVE their Oh Katy's but they always leak for us. I think its because the elastic is just shot. So I'm wondering how easy it is to replace the elastic. Do I just slip some new elastic in there, or is it more complicated than that? What about paying a seamstress to do it? Would it be worth it? Can anyone share their experiences with shot elastic?

Re: Oh Katy elastic problems

  • You have to seam rip the corners where the elastic is and sew back over it, but it's a quick and easy process. There are WAHMs who will replace elastic for low fees, but it's definitely worth it IMO to do it yourself.

  • Well honestly I've not really like them since day one. But recently I saw a picture of DD wearing them as a baby (last year) and I realized the leg openings were actually tight then, unlike how they look on her now. So I guess I was just hoping that maybe redoing the elastic would help.
But yeah, they've kind of always leaked. I don't understand why, since some people swear by them.
