Trying to Get Pregnant

Is it true that you can "feel" that you're pregnant?

I ovulated the day before yesterday, I am waiting now for that "feeling" to tell me if I have conceived or not. Of course I will be buying a pregnancy test to tell me for sure in a couple weeks, but I'm just wondering if the myths about "knowing" that you are pregnant are true

Re: Is it true that you can "feel" that you're pregnant?

  • Nope. Not until I starting puking.

  • The reason I am asking is because I was reading a list of pregnancy symptoms today...one of them was just knowing that you have the baby inside you. I guess it was silly but I was just curious as I have never been pregnant (unfortunately)
  • Nope.

Every month I thought I was pregnant, I wasn't. The month I did get pregnant I thought my period was coming.

This is definitely not a symptoms of pregnancy. Whatever you were reading is incorrect.

  • Wow the people on these boards are assh*les. I was asking because some moms said that they  knew they were pregnant before getting the pregnancy result. I'm not saying you can literally feel the baby inside you, I was just wondering if other mom's had gotten a kind of "intuition" if you will that they conceived. No need to call me a moron, or put stupid GIFS of people shaking their heads sarcastically.

  • Yes I felt sperm meet egg, it was like a rainbow of unicorns exploded inside me.

In all seriousness, nope, I was shocked even though I was 2 days past my longest LP.  I didn't have a single symptom for a week or 2 after that and then it was just sore boobs.

  • OP, if you think everyone is so mean around here, why do you keep coming back for more? And asking such stupid fucking questions?

  • Okay true story: my aunt, who I love to pieces, claims to have 'felt it'. Both times.

Now, I am not going to call her a liar or stupid , because she's not. She had had a crazy reproductive health history... I am not touching that topic with her.

HOWEVER I am going to go ahead and not put that down as a possible symptom reality for me. Or most people. Orr anyone.

Have sex. Wait. Pee on a stick. Repeat.
  • I def did not know until I was throwing up and took a test!

  • Yes it's true. It happened to me both times I was pregnant. Then again, every month I've felt that way but have not been pregnant most months. It is not a true indicator as when you are ttgp there is a tendency to notice everything about your body.

I'm sorry that you feel like people are rude but the fact that someone put that down as an indicator is pretty goofy so people are going to give goofy or snarky responses. Like pp stated, you've been here before and if you plan to continue posting, you might want to lurk so you get to know the board and see how the ladies here are. That way you won't be surprised when you see snark at silly questions.

  • Nope. With DD being a surprise - I felt absolutely nothing until a couple weeks after I tested positive.

For the past two cycles I've felt pregnant and have not been. So when I feel nothing, I figure I'll get a BFP.

I remember you! I thought your name looked familiar, I guess that awful case of the runs you had didn't wind up being a pregnancy symptom either. Good luck with your new "feeling" abilities

  • Lol this is kind of funny. I wouldn't say that I "felt" pregnant at all, until I was around 7 months and it started getting a little awkward to get around easily with a big belly in the way.

I know the cycle we conceived DD (before I ever tested) I felt too good to be getting my period. Normally I would get really moody, and then the cramps would come, etc. But that cycle, I just felt awesome. So I guess in my case I felt different, but definitely wouldn't say I felt pregnant LOL

  • From her last post
Not always true about the pregnancy test. My mom's pregnancy tests came out positive for 3 months with my last sibling...finally went to the dr and she is pregnant. It's not rocket science either that tests aren't always accurate... I genuinely feel that I am pregnant, and I will go to the doctor to confirm it whether i am or not to be sure.
    Thanks for the response.

    So ... were you?
  • I haven't been around very long, but I took one look at the title and knew this was not going to end well. lol

  • With my first I didn't feel pregnant at all for a few weeks, even after my BFP. With my second I knew right away, had nausea at 9dpo and started testing every day but didn't get a bfp until 12dpo. It was really strange.
